Ok friends! It’s time to get real about the state of the world we’re living in. (No, I’m not about to get political, so don’t worry.) There is such an incredible amount of waste filling up landfills that really don’t need to be there. Choosing recycling and clean beauty products is a start, but there’s more we can be doing everyday that is so much easier and cost effective than we think.

I’m not perfect whenever it comes to everything in our household being eco-friendly, but I really do my best. These 10 swaps below are some seriously easy recommendations that in many cases, will save you money in the long run – as well as helping the environment.

1. Swap fabric softener sheets for wool dryer balls.
2. Swap garbage bags for biodegradable trash bags.
3. Swap regular laundry detergent for laundry detergent in biodegradable containers.
4. Swap plastic bags at the grocery store for cloth bags that you can recycle, wash, and reuse!
5. Swap plastic straws for metal ones.
6. Swap plastic bags for Stasher reusable silicone bags.
7. Swap a brown bag lunch for a reusable lunch box or bento box.
8. Instead of using a plastic water bottle, purchase a refillable metal one instead.
