First, 23andme offers two different types of testing: ancestry and health + ancestry. You can do one or you can do both – it’s completely up to you and much easier than you would think!
You simply order your 23andme genetic testing kit online and follow the instructions for spitting in the tube, then mailing it back to their lab in the pre-paid package. (Hint: make sure you don’t eat or drink for 30 minutes before doing the test.) After 6-8 weeks have passed, you will get emailed your results and have loads of information about your ancestry right in your very hands.
I think it’s so amazing that this exists and I can’t wait for both my husband and I to get our results so that we’ll be able to sit with Branden (Blake’s a little too young for this kind of chat) and tell him information about what makes him the person that he is.
