21 Books To Read To Kids That Will Empower Them
I feel like just as much as we all could use some encouragement from time to time as adults, so can kids. I try my best to give them these words of encouragement everyday, but probably more often than not, I fall short. We read as much as we can and admittedly probably did more with Branden than Blake (poor second child), but we still have our favorites and love exploring books to read to kids that will empower, motivate and inspire them. So if you’ve been wondering what books to read to kids that can give your littles that same encouragement, here’s our favorites broken down by age range.

There are so many wonderful authors and books out there that it can truly be difficult to narrow what books to read to kids down, but today I’m giving it my best short and hoping you enjoy my list.

Mama friends, I really hope you walk away from reading this with all of your what books to read to kids questions answered. We have so many of these on our shelves at home and are buying more and more as the kids get older. As you can see from the picture above, we have book shelves all over our living room and it’s always been important to be that our children have a little spot where they can take a pause from the day and have a quiet moment with a great read – no matter how big or small the message. The Percy Jackson books are really good for adults, too 😉 I have read them all and loved them (and so did my boys )!
I still have my Dr. Seuss book. Somebody gave it to me at my graduation and it is probably one of my favorite gifts. My family loves to read and I love all the suggestions you have here.
My kids are a little older but I would enjoy reading to kids in my extended family. These are some great titles and really have such great messages.
Oh, The Places You’ll Go is one of the best books you can ever read to your kids. It’s definitely a message they need to hear.

There are some awesome books on this list! I know a favorite of ours was always From Head to Toe by Eric Carle.
We just discovered Giraffes Can’t Dance a few months ago. I love reading that book to my kids and took it to share at reading time in their class at school.

I loved reading Dr Suess’ Oh The Places You’ll Go to my kids when they were small. They are teenagers now but I do have young cousins who would enjoy these books.
