It’s that time of year. Everyone is setting goals and a lot of them are all about getting healthy and working out more, if we’re being honest here. So, don’t be that person who is looking for a get skinny quick situation – it doesn’t exist. There really is just nothing that compares to good old fashioned hard work and moving your body.

5 Steps to Starting Your Fitness Journey Right Now
I forget who said it, but I hear this quote right through my head all the time, especially whenever it comes to my fitness routine:
“Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.”
It really hits the nail on the head. Moving your body every single day is never a bad thing and once it becomes a routine, you will start to feel awful on days that you don’t workout. For real.
Step one: Find Fitness Clothes That Actually Fit
Finding the right fit in your fitness clothes can be frustrating – I get it! I’ve learned a whole lot over the years especially after having a body that changed so much from pregnancy to pregnancy and I’m sure that you can relate. If you don’t love how your fitness clothes fit you, then you most definitely won’t want to put them on to work out and then you are just stopped right there from moving forward in your fitness journey. Step Two: Stop Making Excuses
Here’s my little truth bomb for the day: I don’t always feel like working out. It’s a HUGE part of my life and an incredibly important part of my life, however, I don’t always feel like getting up and making it happen. We’re all human. We have good days and bad days. So whenever you wake up and have a scheduled workout ahead of you and find yourself ready to hit the couch instead, here’s what you need to remind yourself so that you can stop making excuses and start hitting your fitness goals.
Step Three: Don’t Be Afraid to Workout in the Cold
I’m not a pro athlete at all, by any means. Just a mama over here trying to get her sweat on while multitasking and getting Blake and the dog outside all at the same time. But these tips for working out in the cold have helped me push through chilly days in weather that is less than inviting. However, you shouldn’t be afraid to work out in the cold weather. In fact, you might even grow to love it with these simple tips!
Step Four: Start With HIIT Training…
HIIT training, or high intensity interval training, is especially awesome if you don’t have a lot of time to squeeze in a workout, but you want to do something impactful.
