Moving forward with a plan to turn your goals into reality can sometimes feel big, and daunting, and heavy. Here are 5 things to do when your goals seem overwhelming.
This is a sponsored post. Thanks for supporting Project Motherhood.
I am a huge fangirl of women doing their thing. Especially moms. No offense to anyone else, but moms have an awful lot working against them, so when I see my fellow mamas push through big barriers to achieve their successes…wow…it makes me so happy. I consider myself a cheerleader for women and will always be the person filling you with positive vibes from the sidelines, because we rise as we lift others.
Goal setting to me is a huge part of motherhood because you not only feel good when you set and achieve goals, but you teach your children how important the concept is, too. Sometimes we need a little help pairing down our goal setting strategies, and sometimes we just need a little boost to get going.
But, what do you do whenever your goals seem overwhelming, untainable, or you are just too afraid to get started? That’s what I want to talk to you all about today in partnership with my friends at Ameo Life.
5 Things To Do When Your Goals Seem Overwhelming
I get it, right now especially we are living in overwhelming times. It can be challenging enough to figure out something that you want to do in your spare time, full time, or during naptime, let alone figure out the next steps. So before we dive in, here’s a little bonus tip: just breathe. Now carry on.
1. Figure out where it’s coming from.
Most of the time, the overwhelm that we feel is very rooted in fear of failure. Take a second to think about the feelings that are washing over you and why you are feeling that way. knowing there it’s coming from will best help you to navigate the best steps to conquer those feelings.
2. Get your healthy on.
I’m going to make this super simple for you all: whenever your body is healthy, you will have the right amount of energy that you need to accomplish all of your big goals. When you feeling “off,” sick, slugish, and everything in between, there are probably some changed that you need to make with what you are eating and how you are taking care of yourself.
Sound about right? This is where Ameo Life comes in.
A few utterly easy tips to help you feel better so that you are performing at your best:
- Take their pH Balanced Alkaline Silver Solution Daily
- Show with their Silver Soaps (yes, it will make you look and feel amazing!)
- Keep a wellness basket on your bedside table.
3. Extend your deadline.
Whenever we get excited about a new goal, we often have a tendency to create tight deadlines and then once we get started on achieving them we realize just how hard we were being on ourselves. Take my advice and push that dealine or give yourself a flexible dealine filled with room for error, breaks, mom energencies, and everything that falls in between. and don’t be hard on yourself because of it.
4. Break your big steps down into smaller goals.
Not only will this help you feel more relaxed about the whole process, but breaking down your goal into smaller steps will help you feel more accomplished, too. And yes, in some cases, this can be dependent on your ability to do #3. If you break your big steps towards your huge goal down into smaller steps, then you are able to cross thise task off you list, move forward, and feel a sense of accomplishment along the way.
5. Practice my “wiggle rule.”
This one is my favorite! Every day I write a to-do list in my planner. This list features mostly the non-negotiable tasks that I absolutely have to get done each day….except for the last one. If I’m having a particularly productive day and get everything done, then amazing. If not, the last task can “wiggle” over to tomorrow’s list without throwing off my whole day.
What do you do whenever your goals feel overwhemling? I would love to read your tips…comment below!
XOXO,
Allison
