If you follow me on Instagram and watch my stories, you saw that I shared late last week that I started to experience some major muscle pain that was just too painful to ignore. So as much as I wanted to hit those 7 miles that I had planned for that day, I stopped at 3 after listening to my body. It feels so defeating though and I totally get how making those decisions is tough, especially whenever you’ve been working hard towards a goal.
I asked to see if anyone would be intrested in a working out for moms fitness series on the blog and even though I have quite a few “yeses” I realized that I’ve been writing about fitness over here for quite some time, just not so consistently. So I’m going to add a few more posts over the next upcoming weeks that will help guide you through all your fitness questions. And if, like me, you’ve been experiencing some workout pain, we’re going to dive into those warning signs today.

5 Times to Trust Your Body And Not Ignore Workout Pain
Like I mentioned earlier, we are moms. We are strong. We push through sleepless nights, early morning, temper tantrums and more on a daily basis. So it makes sense that whenever it comes to working out that we want to push through hurdles there, too. However, toughing things out isn’t always the right answer. Here’s 5 different types of workout pain that you should never push through.
1. Pain that comes with immediate swelling. Whenever this happens, you should immediately stop what you are doing and get an ice bag.
2. Workout pain that not only won’t go away, but gets worse. If it get’s worse during the course of your workout, it probably means that the injury is getting worse. Give youself a break and stop right now.
3. Pops! A popping noise is NEVER a good thing. This can mean so many different things and it’s important that you quit while you are ahead.
4. Pain that you can feel in just one spot. If you are experiencing pain in one very specific area (i.e. your knee), and doesn’t stop the next day, it’s defienrly worth looking into and could indicate more of an injury.
5. Sharp pains. A sudden, sharp pain is a pretty good indicator that something is wrong.
