5 Tips For Keeping Your New Years Resolution
Okay friends! January is almost over and here’s the big question: where do you stand with all of your health goals? I made sure that we talked about new years goal lists as soon as 2018 poured in, but I want to challenge you all to shift your mindset a little bit today and let’s talk about the longevity of these goals. How are you making it happen? Do you have a plan? I know it’s a lot to think about, especially when you’re busy with kids everyday, so I wanted to share my tips for keeping your new years resolution the entire year through – because I KNOW we can all do this together!
But first, I want to say how much I get it: keeping your new years resolution is tough, especially when you’re trying to dedicate time to your health. Why is this always so much trickier than other goals? It’s simple: life is busy. And what happens when things get busy? We put our health goals on the back burner because they are the easiest to put off. So not only do I want to share my tips for keeping your new year resolution and really (like…for real sticking with it) but one of my favorite products from Walmart, where resolutions are made easy, that’s honestly helping to give me a little boost. (Because we could all use a little help here and there, amright?)
Keeping your new years resolution: my busy moms guide
No matter what health goals you have set, we all have one common mindset, which is keeping your new years resolution the whole year through. Here’s how I’ve switched things up to achieve balance in my life and stop being so damn hard on myself.
Find your tribe.
I will be SO real with you guys here – it’s really hard to be your own cheer leader. That’s why cheer leaders exist, after all. I recommend finding a small group of likeminded friends or relatives and either create a private Facebook group or even a group chat on your cell phone and be each other supporters every single day. My sister and I do this and we send everything from health meal pictures to sweaty selfies and words of encouragement to make it through the week.
Set aside twenty minutes.
All you need is twenty minutes to get in a good, sweaty workout, as long as you’re giving it your all. Set aside 4 days per week and go hard for that short period of time and you will feel ah-mazing afterwards.
Keep the crap out of your home.
Whether you’re goal is to lose weight, get rid of inflammation or just live a healthier lifestyle, you will never be able to do it when you have crap food laying around your kitchen. Get rid of it all and you will surely be on your way to keeping your new years resolution – with no distractions in sight.
Try out Hydroxycut gummies as your little helper.
Truth: I often get hungry in the afternoon and know that it comes from boredom because I move so fast to get all my things done in morning and afternoons are more low key (translation: more time for me to want to snack). So, I’m currently trying out Hydroxycut gummies for the first time to help me curb some of that yearning to eat whenever I know I’m not actually hungry and so far so good. This version is a non-stimulant, so you don’t have to worry about your heart racing and not being able to sit down, and I haven’t had any problems so far. And if you don’t want them to be so intense, you can take a half dose (3 gummies, see below), which is what I have been doing. Just chew 3 about an hour before your biggest meal or whenever works best for you and they will be the perfect secret helper to keeping your new years resolution.
Find your balance…not someone else’s.
There are SO many magazines and articles out there that will tell you what you should be doing in terms of eating and working out – but you absolutely have to find your own balance and what works best for you. You also have to understand that as much as we don’t want to admit it, finding that balance sometimes takes time. I’ve been hardcore sticking with the keto diet for a long time and turning to Walmart to find all the foods that helped keep me on track with that, but as we approached a new year, I took a break from it because it wasn’t helping me stay balanced anymore, and that’s okay. You’ll find your groove and things will shift, but as long as you take time to figure out a plan that works for you, your goals will keep in the long run.

Just keep pushing forward and before you know it, not only will you be keeping your new year’s resolutions, but it will be 2019 and you will be setting new goals.
