Easy is my word of the summer. The world is a heavy place right now and week by week I decided how important it is to make my mom life just a little bit easier.
This is a sponsored post. Thanks for supporting Project Motherhood!
We are now in month 6 of 2020 and it seems like every month has felt like an entire year within itself. There is so much going on in the world and everything is building upon one another and making day to day a little bit more difficult to navigate. I feel it. You feel it. We all feel it. And it’s heavy.
My famous words around here lately have been “easy” and “simple” because we need that in our lives so badly and Project Motherhood is a place you can always come to for the less-complicated approach. I’ve been thinking a lot about what I can do right now to make things easier, not next month, not when the kids go back to school, but this week. If you’re like me and searching for those answers, too, I’ve got some for you today that I truly hope make an impact in your life.
5 Ways to Make Your Mom Life Easier This Week
1. Schedule out the things that matter most.
I generally am a planner by nature, so I feel like it takes a whole lot of stress off of myself whenever I have a clear idea of what’s happening when it comes to the big stuff for the week like meetings, doctor’s appointments, play dates, and even what we’re having for dinner. As long as the important things are scheduled then the rest can just be.
2. Play hide and go seek before bed.
Since we moved, the kids have been really into playing hide and go seeks and I’ve come to the realization that playing it before bed gives me a chance to get a few end of the day things done. For instance, I’ll volunteer to be the seeker and whenever I know the kids have run up to the second floor to hide, I’ll do my sweep of everything on the first floor. I’ll fold blankets, close all the blinds, let the dog out, set the alarm, make sure things are in the dishwasher, etc. This gives me more time to relax at the end of the day.
3. Buy yourself bite away® ASAP.
Oh you guys: get ready for the most epic mom hack I have come across in a loooong time. Bite Away is an FDA cleared and chemical-free (you KNOW how important that is to me!) treatment that literally provides instant insect bite relief. Yes, you read that correctly. And I know, I just made your summer way less annoying.
There is nothing worse than trying to fall asleep at night and feeling the constant itching of an insect bite. Well….maybe your kids complaining about those bites, right? That can all be a thing of the past now with Bite Away!

Some important product facts:
- It’s safe to use on ages 2 and above, allergy sufferers and even expectant mothers
- It can be safely self-administered by ages 12 and above
- How it works: the ceramic contact surface is placed on the bite or sting until a temperature of around 124°F is reached and is maintained
for the selected time. Your skin is soothed gently and easily without any harsh chemicals.
4. Don’t stress about bath time or pajamas.
Unless we are going somewhere, these are two things that I have realized I need to let go of control over. Who cares if the kids play in the yard in their Pjs all day or sleep in their clothes? Is it really hurting them? It’s not.
And as for baths, as long as they aren’t going to bed with visible dirt on themselves, sometimes you just have to let this one go for your sanity.
5. Follow my “one thing a day” rule.
I learned this one from my mama, who had 4 kids and definitely needed to cut back on her stress on a daily basis. Do one thing every day for the house. That’s it. It could be something simple like throwing in just one load of laundry or wiping down the bathroom really quick with an antibacterial wipe. Do it and then be done with it.
