It’s no secret that looking back in time can often unlock the key to our fashion future. Living in New York City, we are lucky to have so many wonderful vintage clothing stores. What Goes Around Comes Around

Perfectly named, this is one of the most upscale vintage clothing stores in New York City—they even require you to have a credit card handy. Recent finds have included pieces from top name brands like Chanel and Louis Vuitton (the store has goods for men too!). The shop has a unique atmosphere making it a fun place to walk around and window shop if you’re not in the market to make a splurge just yet.

Beacon’s Closet

I don’t think it’s possible to have a vintage shopping list without listing this miracle! While the Williamsburg location has closed up, there are still stores in Greenpoint and Park Slope in Brooklyn and in the West Village. Inside, you’ll find everything from costume jewelry and shoes to evening gowns (this is a great spot if you’re looking for a chic dress to wear to a wedding). One of the best parts: the store is color coded.

Looking for old-school T’s or a pair of Chuck Taylors you never thought you’d see again? This casual shop in Billyburg may just be the place for you. They have great products for both men and women and are known as one of the biggest vintage sellers in all of NYC.

Amarcord

Here’s one that goes way back in time: Look around closely and you’ll spot clothing from as far back as the 1940’s (perfect if you’re on the hunt to buy pieces for a costume). In addition, they have a section exclusively for European vintage clothing—the designers are super high end (read: pricey).
