Good Morning, Ladies!
Thanksgiving leftovers are safely tucked away, so you all know what THAT means…time to indulge in some Black Friday shopping therapy. And whether you explore the sales offerings at the mall, at the trendy neighborhood shops, or online, we all know that great prices are not just for gift buying but for wardrobe enhancing. So, this is your Project Motherhood permission to do a little shopping for yourself on Black Friday, too. And how better to do that than by releasing your inner leather lover?
I know all of you aren’t necessarily sure about this leather thing going on in lady’s fashion and whether it is right for you. And even if you think you are ready to take the leap into leather, you may be wondering how to incorporate it into your everyday wardrobe. Regardless of your personal style, there is definitely a place in your wardrobe for some leather.
And now that faux leather is so easy to maintain and so friendly to our wallets, it’s time to let your hair down and add some leather to your life.
Here’s some ideas we found for you, to inspire you to indulge your inner leather lover…
1.DKNYC Women’s Ponte Faux Leather and Suede Pieced Jacket
The good news for all of us is that the color blocking trend of the past couple of years has morphed into what I’ll call “fabric blocking”, by mixing textures and types of fabric…and nowhere is this more sexy and appealing, in my opinion, than mixing woven, knit, and faux leather in the same garment, as seen in this special offering by DKNYC. This very versatile jacket will update your look in a flash, while blending perfectly into your current wardrobe pieces. And there’s just enough faux leather along with its angled silhouette to give your look some attitude.
2. Sanctuary Clothing Women’s Diamond Shell Top
This “vegan leather” v-neck sleeveless top is a great way to introduce a leather item into your look by wearing it with regular fabric pieces. While the front is all faux leather, this shell surprises with a full fabric back and with just a hint of leather on the peplum bottom. I’t’s all finished with a sexy back zipper for easy on and off which also helps maintain a streamlined fit. Think of how cute this will look with either wide legged pants or a woven plaid skirt. And there’s also those skinny jeans you just bought in rust. Would look great with a wool blazer!
3. Liverpool Jeans Company Women’s Cecil Coated Ponte Pull-On Pencil Skirt
This fantastic faux leather piece from Liverpool Jeans Company shows that indulging your inner leather lover doesn’t have to mean going “biker chic”. I’m picturing this lovely skirt going to the office with a lovely cashmere sweater, a soft/sleek contrast to help you feel great all day! This neutral tan color is a sure winner and ready to go anywhere and with anything, with ease. Machine washable, too!
4. Calvin Klein Women’s Perforated Pleated Skirt
Be a lady in leather while rocking this gorgeous skirt, with a flair for fun. I love the perforation in the faux leather that adds some interesting texture, while still working as “basic black”. Actually, this skirt will go to work for you for many occasions, and you will be glad you added it to your wardrobe staples.
5. Lysse Medium Control Rue Faux Leather & Ponte Knit Leggings
“Fabric blocking’ adds some real pizazz to another of our favorite wardrobe staples of 2014… Leggings! And if I were you, I’d nab these excellent values in both colors…stunning black and a yummy shade of latte. These sleek yet classy leggings will carry you easily into 2015.
So how are you lovely ladies going to indulge your inner leather lover today? Enjoy your shopping this Friday and onward, whether in Black or Latte!
Fashionably yours,
Deborah

oooo LOVE the leather leggings! I’ve been eyeing a jacket that is tweed with leather shoulders and lapels. I keep thinking about it, so I think that’s a sign I should get it :). Thanks for joining in on the link up! Hope to see you back next week!

I love the leggings and the skirt! Awesome picks. I need to read more about fabric blocking. Haven’t heard that term!

Thanks for the feedback, ladies! So glad you enjoyed.
And, btw Jamie, I might have made up a new term when I said “fabric blocking” but it just made sense to me as I was writing this, with the style following the way it did from color blocking. I think I like this new version of varying the fabrics even better!
Happy shopping 🙂
