This past weekend, Branden turned 7 – which still has me in a bit of shock. Has it really been 7 years since I gave birth to this little guy? It can’t be! But, it stunningly has. (You can see a picture of him blowing out his candles here.) I think that Branden getting older helps me put more and more emphasis on not only being healthy so that I can keep up with him, but being passionate about fashion – something that has always been important to me and a huge part of my life.
So this past weekend, I wanted to get some fun pictures in and my husband took us to a park near his Army base called Little Bay Park where he snapped away while B got to have some rock climbing time.
Yes, that’s my hubbs shadow as he plays photographer to help me out! Anyways…at the beginning of each school year, I always make sure to stock up on basics to have handy for morning rushes to the bus stop, so that my bus stop style is pulled together and NOT yoga pants and a tee shirt everyday (but yes, there are days when that happens.)
My favorite shoes that I added to my wardrobe this year are these awesome Sperry Topsiders with just a hint of neon pink in them, which I knew would match perfectly with this lightweight sweater I had from Express hanging in my closet.

There is no need to go overboard with your bus stop style; instead, focus on being casual in a way you feel good. And if you are having a rushed morning, check out my post “Sleep More, Primp Less: Beauty Hacks For Busy Mornings,” for some foolproof ways to pull yourself together.
A closer look at my new favorites! I was worried that I didn’t have enough casual pieces to mix these with, but they are actually so fun to wear and beyond lightweight. And they have surprised me with their versatility. They take a little bit of getting used to after wearing sandals all summer, so I recommend buying the Sperry Top-Sider Women’s No Show Socks (here) that are meant to be worn with these for extra comfort.
Here are some things to always have on hand for on point bus stop style:
- Skinny Jeans
- The perfect flats
- Thick leggings
- Quarter length tees for layering
- Hi-low tees

You look so fantastic! I’ve started to become really conscious of how I look at school pickup – some moms are just so stylish and put together and I’m not! I need to get better!

I try to do the same. My go to are always jeans and whichever top hides my belly! LOL. I have a pair of camo Sperry shoes that are a go to in the mornings as well as Lucky Brand moccasins.

Adorable! I don’t take a ton of time in the morning to get myself ready as I rush the kids out the door for school. But easy to pull together looks like this one I could manage.

How cute are you? I’m loving this style makes you look so young.

I love that this look is so simple and cute! I see a lot of fashion looks that rely on a lot of different layers, which really just seems too complicated for most days. This is adorable but simple. LOVE!

I just love Sperry’s. If I had my way I’d probably own at least half a dozen.
