To me, fall = layers – and lots of them! First and foremost, I want lots of layers for their functional use, as we get hot and cold to varying degrees throughout the day. Then, I love lots of layers from the fashion angle, as layering prints and plaids and colors and patterns on top of each other just yields amazing results. With fringe being so in style right now, one of my absolute favorite pieces that I bought to layer on top this season was my Aeropostale Print Mixed Fringe Kimono (helllooo its only $25 – check it out NOW!) which inspired this hippie style shoot of mine!
Being that we’re still having random 70 degree days pop up, I styled the kimono with my favorite pair of skinny cropped denim and booties that I couldn’t live without! This simple $25 kimono that mixes together both fringe and a GORG navy crochet pattern on the back has already brought me more compliments than items that I have spent a fortune on. It’s definitely something worth investing in!
You can see in this picture just how long this kimono actually is, but it’s super lightweight, too. AND while you shop for pieces like this, don’t be afraid to venture into the girl’s department. I know this advice can sound crazy, but pieces like this are much less expensive there, and there is nothing too young about it.

Don’t be afraid to pair cropped denim with a little bootie, ever! Yes, your ankles might get cold, but it is seriously cute as we transition into winter – so show those ankles before it’s too late!
I couldn’t have asked for a better day to show off my favorite hippie style by the water! There is nothing like traveling right outside the city and connecting with the world outside the city walls every once in a while.
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
