Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a super exclusive event for Angie’s List and let me tell you – impressed is certainly how I felt when I left. Whether you can believe it or not, they have been around twenty-one years and this company that we all originally associated with only home repairs, allows you to really do so many things that it not only simplifies your life but is a one stop shop for us busy mamas.
There I am, pregnant waddle and all and I made my way downtown to a gorgeous townhouse where I got to tour room after room (scroll down for some serious apartment envy) and learn about all of the services that they offer, what’s changing, what’s new, and of course – chat with Angie herself. (If you were wondering, she is SUPER sweet and down to Earth.)
So what’s the major announcement? Starting July 13th, the first 5,000 people who sign up for Angie’s List will be entered to in a contest to win $20,000 towards a home project! Pretty major if you ask me! But taking things one step further, Angie’s List is now offering FREE access. Yes, after all of these years, you can finally signup for free to receive access to their verified reviews to help you make the best decisions when choosing people to help you move, repair your roof, or even give you the best manicure ever. Epic.
There are still paid memberships, but a Gold one will only run you $99.95 per year for complaint resolution process and customer support via phone, and a Silver one is $24.95, for fair price and service quality guarantees, exclusive discount and chat and email customer support. It really is a major shift for the company, but they aim to please and know what their users want and need from their service.
I will admit that I went into the event with a certain opinion or understanding of what Angie’s List is and offers and I was quickly put right in my place. They have 700 categories, not the handful that I thought they did, which include surprises like gardening, moving, and even spa services. You can search for endless information and reviews to find you the right person for any job.
And remember how I said in the beginning that it’s a one stop shop? Here’s why: they have integrated social into their platform, so you are able to see if a friend has hired, reviewed, and even had a good/bad relationship with a contractor of some sort. Furthermore, it’s also a Mecca of inspiration right at your fingertips. No more teeter tottering back and forth between Angie’s List and Pinterest – they actually have inspirational tools and ideas built right into their platform to satisfy all your project needs. I’m sold!
I couldn’t end this post without sharing my picture I quickly took on the cab ride home. Sometimes a mama just needs a few minutes of alone time. Just image all the free minutes you will add to your day using their new platform!
Are you an Angie’s List user? Whether you have been a member forever or are ready to take advantage of their free option, hop over to their website and checkout all the newness waiting for you!
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
