We want to make sure that we’re giving our babies the best, but it’s scary what’s actually in the baby food that we buy at the store. Here’s why I’m turning to The Clean Label Project and their amazing baby food study that reveals so much that parents need to be informed of.

The Clean Label Project Baby Food Study – What You Need to Know ASAP!
Busy doesn’t even begin to describe this one as of lately. And then there are the temper tantrums that have started way earlier than I would have thought (or remembered from Branden). Maybe girls are just different? Either way, I try my hardest to make sure she’s not sitting at home with me all day and so many of our days begin with a jog and some park play. Between this and making sure that we keep it clean by constantly following up with the Clean Label Project, I feel like I’ve got things covered day to day – in the health department, at least.
The Clean Label Project is honestly your secret weapon of education as a parent. It’s a nonprofit organization that’s focused on health transparency in consumer product labeling. Their main goal is to reduce contamination in everything that we feed ourselves and our families and keep us educated when we’re making shopping decisions. You all know how important living a healthy lifestyle is to me, so this is truly an amazing resource that we all should shed some light on.
One of their biggest studies (that you can see above) is about baby food – something we’re all too familiar with over here! These results honestly make me shudder, there’s no much bad stuff even in the food that we think is the safest.
I’d like to say that I was safer this time around with Blake, by incorporating a lot of homemade baby food, but to be completely honest we threw in mix of self-stable product (like what’s been tested in this study), too. And little miss still has food pouches on a daily basis, just because of how easy they make life, and it really scares me to know that there might be something inside harming her developing body.
We would do everything to protect these little of ours, and making sure they’re eating the best is something we can do every single day that makes a huge impact.
Right here on their website, this fall, there will be full access to baby food ratings so that we’re able to be more informed as parents. Having this peace of mind is a gift for every parent out there that we all need to be paying attention to and sharing with all our mom friends (because we all know that we’re the ones making most of the shopping decisions).
If there’s something that I hope you walk away from reading this, it would be simple: educate yourself on what you’re feeding your family. I feel like I’ve spent years thinking that I was making the right choices, but there’s so much beyond just the nutrition label that we need to look into. Inform yourself mamas!
Fashionably Yours,
Allison

I didn’t even know this existed. He was kind of scary what they found in the baby food. I am grateful that I was able to make mine from scratch but there are a lot of people out there that don’t. This is definitely something we should all know about.

It is so scary! And I’m so grateful that Clean Label Project exists for that very reason – it gives parents a piece of mind.

Wow! Those statistics ARE scary! I don’t have kids but I have plenty of babies in my life, and I think their moms need to know about this! Your little one is absolutely PRECIOUS in those pics!

I’m definitely liking the sound of the Clean Label Project. Transparency is super important when it comes to products your kids will be exposed to.

What we give our children is so important. I had no idea that everything like this was even in baby food.
Allison Cooper says
It’s horrifying to think that these bad things are slipping into what we feed our littles!

Honestly, this is something I didn’t even know to think of when my kids were babies. It is scary what ends up in the systems of our tiny people!

It is so hard to know what we;re giving our kids… and yet the most important! So scary to think of what is hidden in what we give them.

Crazy that they found this in baby food! I’m so happy that my kids are older now. It’s so hard when you try to feed your kids good stuff and then find out about stuff like this.
Allison Cooper says
Right? It’s so scary!
