Hacks For Making Parenting Easier
Our Blake is sassy, to say the very least. And I think that each and every photo you will see as you keep scrolling completely exemplifies that. She’s a strong willed child, and just like her older brother, always knows exactly what she wants and how to make that happen. They both have those personality types that have me over her hoping will help them run a company someday, but know the school years will be a struggle (and already are with Branden). Being a work from home mom, my days are spent balancing meeting with deadlines, squeezing in a workout 4 times a week and dealing with a feisty toddler all day, so I’ve developed some hacks for making parenting easier and truly hope they help you, too.
Making parenting easier – 4 Hacks I Live By
If your life is anything like mine, each day has its ups and down and crazy moments where you’re the mom running after the bus, dragging both kids. It’s a circus and we seriously must be the ultimate ringmasters to make sure everything falls into place. After all, everyone is always looking to us for the answers. Here’s how I make parenting easier (or as easy as it possible can be right), for myself and try to relish in the things that matter.
1. Start your day slow.
My personal inclination is to start the day like a tornado, and jump of of bed the second my alarm goes off, springing into the day. This hasn’t really been serving me well lately, because I’m missing out on those quality moments where this little one both needs and wants my attention. Starting the day slower allows me to be more present and I’ve realized that when she knows that these moments are more plentiful that she’s more willing to give me some space during other parts of the day when I need to focus. You have to feel it out though and see what works for you, perhaps your little one would rather slow down after nap time – either way having that time is really dear.
2. Make sure your fridge is stocked with FAGE Total Split Cup.
I say this from experience: I know we would al love to curate home cooked meals each morning that are instagram-worthy – but that’s not a reality when you have kids and life in general. Having these delicious FAGE Total Split Cups on hand, which come in various fruit flavors, makes for an easy, on the go, breakfast (or snack!). Made from all-natural Greek strained yogurt with yummy fruit toppings, it comes in three fat varieties, so you can find just what you’re looking for to fit your lifestyle (whole milk, FAGE Total 2% and FAGE Total 0% Split Cup). And it fits perfectly into my diaper bag or hand so that I can still wrangle my crazy toddler. #momwin
3. Make healthy choices.
Like I mentioned before, I work out at least 4 days every week and I don’t say this to brag, but I’m simply sharing what helps keep me sane. Making healthy choices doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with trying to be a skinny mom or weight loss, it’s about being healthy so that you can be present and chase after these quick little kids of ours. You all know my obsession with the keto diet, and you also know I’ve stepped away from it this year, but it taught me a major lesson about my health that has helped me balance parenthood: don’t be afraid of fat. Fat keeps you fuller longer and you need to eat fat in order to burn fat, so I always turn toward FAGE Total Split Cup made with whole milk. It’s simply the healthiest choice for me because I can go longer stretches without eating because it fills me up, and sometimes I don’t have time for lunch – so this is a no brainer for me.
Each serving is protein rich (11g), easily sharable with Blake, low in sugar (only 11g) and my favorite mango flavor contains only 150 calories – making it the perfect breakfast for busy moms everywhere.
4. Write a list every single day.
I can’t stress this anymore, as it’s the absolute only thing that keeps me balanced as a parent and a person and a wife. It’s crucial. Knowing what I need to get done every day gives me that outline I need for navigating my day as a whole. I’m able to better understand the best times to take breaks, if I’m able to sit and do some dramatic play with Blakey boo or if I’ll need to turn on Netflix because I have an important deadline. It helps me power through the day and never be scatterbrained.

I really need to try those split cups. I love yogurt and I love mixing fruit and other stuff in it. I will definitely be trying this.

I must try those split cups because my son loves yogurt and they are such a sensible healthy snack. It is so important to be organized when you have kids because you have to budget yor time.
Meagan says
I totally agree – the mornings that are super rushed make my kids cranky, and then I’m cranky. The mornings that are slower seem to make all the difference!

Your daughter is too cute! My family and I love FAGE so much! They are so decadent!
Sarah says
We always start our mornings slow. It’s too hard to get all the kids up and just jump right into the day.
