The V. Club: A New Motherhood and Wellness Center in NYC
If you guys follow me on Instagram, you got a little sneak peek of my trip to The V. Club last week and to say that I left overwhelmed in the most magical way possible is an understatement. This new motherhood and wellness center located in Chelsea is so inviting, beautiful and the women running the show, founder Courtney Cleman and Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Certified Nurse Midwife, Alexandria Ross are so warm and personable that you will know that you belong instantly. Throughout my entire visit, I kept finding myself saying aloud how much I wished that I had this facility to turn to after I had both kids because having new mom support whether you are pregnant or a new mom is invaluable.
This week, they launch their V. Mommy Clinic, which I truly believe is going to help create a much-needed shift in the NYC mom culture, as frazzled moms will have a safe, judgement free zone to turn to as they navigate the joys and challenges of new motherhood – for the first or even the fifth time. Can I get some praise hands over here?
My scoop on The V. Club
The absolutely stunning, must-visit spot for all NYC moms, The V. Club, offers loads of educational classes that range from motherhood to sexual health, wellness and more (seriously, it’s time to finally master those kegels!), but their latest offering, The V. Mommy Club is launching this week and something that needs to be on your radar. Each unique Q&A-based class offers women an opportunity to get expert answers to all their questions about motherhood. No topic is off the table! With classes held every day, and costing only $25 for each hour and fifteen-minute class, there’s no reason for any mom to ever feel alone or isolated as she learns the role of being a parent.
Each class is limited to 16 people, so you will experience an intimate gathering of all moms and moms-to-be, going through similar things and make lasting connections with other moms along the way. Seriously, no more waiting weeks to get an appointment with your doctor or waiting hours in a waiting room when you just have a simple question for your lactation consultant. If motherhood could be simplified at all, I’d say this is it.
And since we all know that new questions arise and maybe even you’re too nervous to raise your hands and ask your question (though I can’t imagine that happening in this environment – but it happens), every conversation is different, so attending class on a weekly basis will make you feel even more confident, part of a community of moms and in all honesty – like super mom. You’ve got this, but The V. Club will be there to help you along the way.
The Bigger Picture: Why The V Club Is So Important
As always, I’m keeping it real with you all. Even though pregnancy and motherhood are some of the most exciting and joyous parts of life, new motherhood can be extremely isolating. I feel like the second time around, with Blake, I planned for so much that was to happen after I gave birth, took a very limited maternity leave and then jumped right back into working with a newborn as my sidekick. It definitely wasn’t easy and while on the outside it looked like I had everything under control, I didn’t realize until recently just how important it is to have the supportive community of a mom tribe by your side. This is why having The V. Club is so important in our community because it’s breaking barriers for new moms everywhere, and that’s truly epic to me.

XOXO,
Allison

This is such a wonderful idea. I didn’t have much support of this type when I had my daughter and it would have been great. We have something similar here though and my daughter makes frequent use of it. It’s SO helpful.

I wish there was a support group for Moms like this one in my area! I think this is a very innovative idea and can be a perfect resource for women in so many awesome ways.

This is brilliant! It reminds me of the First Wives Club. A film from 1996. Both are on women’s behalf and much needed. I know we need The V. Club in Southern California.
