My First Moments With First Response™
Before you guys go and get excited, this is not a pregnancy announcement – but a pregnancy memory. A moment for me to reflect on those first, sweet motherhood moments whenever I found out that I was pregnant with both of these cute faces. They are both two completely different stories, but ones I’ve been yearning to tell. I can’t imagine them being any different and I’m so excited to have had FIRST RESPONSE™ by my side through each of them.
The First Response™ Triple Check Pregnancy Test is a breath of fresh air whenever it comes to pregnancy tests. The makers of this wonderful product know that one yes is never enough (I mean…how many tests did you take just to make sure? Right?) The kit offers three unique tests in one convenient combination kit – so you literally get to triple check! Each test offers a different way to learn your result with over 99% accuracy¹. More ways to tests means added reassurance when it matters most. The Early Result and Digital can detect all forms of the pregnancy hormone commonly found in urine and be used as soon as 6 days before your missed period (5 days before the day of expected period)- sooner than any other brand. Talk about perfection.
So…onto my stories! Whenever I found out that I was pregnant with Branden, Chris had just left to go back to army training and I was getting ready to start a new semester of school here in NYC, back when I was studying Fashion Design. I bought by First Response test and crept into my apartment bathroom, with Chris on the phone with me. I honestly had no clue what I was doing because it was the first time I had ever taken a pregnancy test.
I watched as the positive test develop and my heart swelled with so much joy. Branden made me a mom and in that very moment, I swear I could feel my connection with him start to form and my love begin to grow. It was such an emotional moment because I was filled with so much joy but also knew a lot was about to change in my life. My path changed in that very moment in the best way possible. It was like everything that I had been searching for my whole life was found in that moment and I instantly became the strong person that I am today. Branden’s pregnancy story is so magical to me because he really made me the person I am today and I’m so thankful to have this assertive, spunky, funny kid in my life.
For little Blake, it was a little bit different and the same – all combined into so many emotions! We were desperate to make Branden a big brother and had been trying for a few months. We went through your normal monthly roller coaster when you’re trying to conceive. The waiting. The hoping you miss your period. The getting your period. Me and First Response got to know each other really well during that time. And then one month, everything aligned and Chris and I sat together in our little apartment and watched as the pregnancy test began to formulate its results.
During those moments, whenever that positive read pulls through, there’s always something inside that does “but what if it’s not?”, so we took a picture and sent it to my sister who was the only one who knew we were trying to get pregnant.
Blake arrived and made this family complete. She’s so incredibly sassy and just as strong-willed as her older brother. Her spirit is so free and her need to be adventurous runs deep – I could actually learn a thing or two from that. The connection that her and Branden have is unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed between sibling before. Perhaps it’s the age difference, but their bond is so strong a beautiful, they will be best friends forever and I think that Blake protects Branden from the world just as much as he does her.

Your story is wonderful. Although I’m done having babies, I know many people who still are and will share your site with them. First Response is definitely a brand that can be trusted.

What a wonderful story! My daughter came out of the bathroom one day and said Mom, does that look like a darker line to you? Does it? Well it did but I wasn’t convinced. I was afraid to get excited until she verified it. I made her get a First Response test to test again so we’d know for sure! 🙂

I love that you’re sharing your story because finding out you’re pregnant is so life altering and amazing. I remember using First Response 15 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with my first!

I remember those days. Was a long road and looking back, very exciting time. I miss my babies, but also glad to finally get more a break. Even though babies are much easier than little kids! 😉
