DIY Body Oil Recipe – 10 Different Uses
Up until adulthood, I really struggled with oily, acne prone skin. And while the acne prone part is still present, it’s gotten so much better than during my teenage years. During those years, I spent my time doing anything and everything to completely strip my skin of all oil, thinking that’s what was causing my breakouts. Until I got smart, talked to a dermatologist, and learned that it was actually the opposite – my skin was producing excess oil because I was stripping it. So, I started buying various types of body oil to use on my face and body after I got out of the shower and they were incredibly effective at reversing my issues – except they are kinda expensive. And I go through those little bottles quick.
After becoming really into essential oils, I realized how easy it was to create my own DIY body oil recipe to always have handy. I keep it in a little amber jar on my dresser, out of Blake’s reach and use it on my arms and back after showering.
But first, If you’re searching for the best essential oils, seriously look no further because I have partnered with Simply Earth as an affiliate and if you sign up using my link, you will get their monthly subscription box for only $39, plus a $20 gift card to use on anything you want in their online store PLUS a huge bonus box filled to the brim with all the carrier oils and containers you need for all of your DIY recipes. The 10 Different Uses Of This Body Oil
Body oil is amazing because it can be used for SO many different things, not just to moisturize your skin. The benefits of the mixture of ingredients in this little jar are truly incredible.
- Moisturizing the skin – I know, “duh” to this one but it’s really a condensed form of what you et from lotion so it’s incredibly moisturizing.
- It can be used as a massage oil
- Relieve stress
- Saves you money since it’s so condensed
- For therapeutic uses, depending on the type of essential oils you use
- Perfume – beautiful fragrance, minus the chemicals in the designer stuff
- To soften your cuticles
- To deep condition your hair – rub it through your tresses at night, throw it up in a ponytail and wash it out in the morning
- To remove frizz in your hair – just a drop or two will do!
- To replace your shaving cream
- To help with skin irritations
- As a beard oil
And as a bonus benefit to this body oil recipe, it can also be used as a scar treatment since it’s incredibly condensed. I throw it on every day and it helps to fade old scars and will even work on your stretch marks after pregnancy!
