The school year is in full swing for our family and our schedules are definitely all over the place. Blake is home with me, though we are still looking for an in-home babysitter a couple days a week. Chris is off two week days instead of weekends, so he’s here to help with some of the morning school shuffle. Branden is getting ready to start lessons for his Trumpet soon and I signed up to be on the fundraising committee for Branden’s school this year. Oh yeah, and then just work around everyone else’s schedule pretty much.
I admit that I love the routine that the new school year brings, but that doesn’t come without some unpredictable moments. I’m a creature of habit and with health being at the forefront of everything I do, it’s important that I have quick meals on hand for crazy days so that I stay on track. So excited to share a few of my absolute favorites today that make me feel good inside out!
1. Healthy Choice Grain Free Power Bowls Spicy Black Bean & Chicken
I’ve shared my love for Healthy Choice Power Bowls in the past and that most certainly hasn’t changed! They have recently launched some new flavors, including this yummy spicy black bean and chicken, which is just the perfect meal in my opinion. I love the addition of the cauliflower rice in these bowls and how they are each a reliable source of fiber and protein, providing 18 – 20 grams of protein and 5 -7 grams of fiber per bowl. Each variety is grain free, gluten free, fits a low carb lifestyle (which you all know is a HUGE part of my life!), and provides a nutrient-dense combination of leafy greens, colorful vegetables, lean proteins and riced cauliflower. 2. Evol Portabella & Goat Cheese Ravioli
I don’t know anyone who would ever turn their nose up to portabella and goat cheese ravioli! With the weather getting chillier and the fact that I’m always craving comfort food, this is a great, healthier option. The raviolis arestuffed with portabella mushrooms, goat cheese and romano & ricotta cheeses combined with crimini mushrooms, red bell peppers, spinach and an insanely tasty creamy basil sauce. 3. Udi’s Sweet Potato Crust Chicken BBQ Pizza
I’ve been buying Udi’s products for years, so when they came out with this bbq chicken pizza made with a sweet potato crust, I was all in. And it did not disappoint! 4. Healthy Choice Simply Steamers Chicken Tikka Masala
Whenever I was pregnant with Blake, we tried Indian food for the first time and it has been a favorite of Branden and mines since. Every time Chris is out of town, we order in and just devour everything our local Indian restaurant has to offer, even though I know it’s not so great for my healthy lifestyle. But the new Simply Steamer Chicken Tikka Masala is!
