Your morning sets the tone for your whole day. Stop doing these things now.

Morning is a pretty delicate time of day, don’t you think? The whole world is starting to wake up and get moving and there is quiet – so much quiet – before the hustle and bustle of the day begins. It is also the time that can really set the tone for your entire day. Believe me, we have mornings that can be completely disastrous, while others are mellow and give me moments to truly center myself and get organized before the kids wake up. You never know what hand you’ll be dealt with. Because I’m so enthusiastic about morning being the most pivotal time of the day, I want you all to sit back, sip on this awesome morning detox drink, and toss some of these morning behaviors out the window.

7 Things You Need to STOP Doing in the Morning
With so little time and so much to do, if you snooze you really lose in the morning.
Checking email and social media right away. I know that it’s super tempting to see whats happening in your inbox or social media right away, but all of that can wait. Seriously, no one needs to hear from you at 6am in the morning. Let your body wake up first without tech and bright screen lights blaring in your face and ease into your day. Social media and email will always be there.
Hitting the snooze button every morning. Some mornings require hitting the snooze button, I get it. But, not all mornings do. Don’t get into the habit of hitting this button and just imagine what you’ll do with all of that extra time!
Not hydrating first. We all go immediately to make coffee in the morning. I’m guilty of this, too. And why I would never be able to kick my believed coffee to the curb, I do keep a glass of water on my bedside table for chugging purposes in the morning. Whenever your alarm goes off and you finally start morning, chug that glass of wanter before your feet hit the floor. Then, you can run downstairs and guzzle that caffeinated goodness.
Stressing over what you’re going to wear. Girl, just stop. Do all of your outfit choosing the night before. Believe me, you don’t have space in your morning routine to be messing around with what you’re going to wear for the day. Keep things simple and create space in your bedtime routine for outfit choosing.

Getting sucked into the news. I know that a lot of us can’t start our day without first hearing what’s going on in the world, but keep in mind that this is played on repeat and if you need to wake up and have some quiet to center yourself, this is worth trading off. Remember, you can always listen to the news during your commute to work or play it later on in the day. Plus, with so many devastating things happening in the world, hearing that news first thing in the morning can completely change your mood as you’re waking up.
Complaining. This is a big one that needs to go buh-bye. I know it sounds trite to say this, but the energy you put out into the world is typically what you get back. If you start the day with complaints, you’re almost guaranteed not to like whatever direction your day may take.
Not having a plan for the day. You must have a plan. Especially on a work day. I know that there are days that require no plans at all, and I totally get that, but on most mornings planning is crucial. Write lists. Know what is ahead of you. Dress for the job you want.
