I will be the first to admit that I pretty much live in a state of mom burnout all the time. For me, it stems from my work at home mom life paired with a pretty needy toddler. We did finally hire a babysitter to come once a week and we have a neighbor who watches her here and there in the evenings and on weekends, but the daily grind is still no joke.
Because of the everyday mom tango that I live, organization is something that I just can’t live my life without. Believe me, I’m not perfect at all in any sense of the word. I struggle. I juggle. I seek balance every single day. But the one thing that does bring sanity to my everyday mom life is a huge dose of organization that I chug with my morning coffee.

7 Things Organized Moms Do Each Day
Full disclaimer: not everyday will be perfectly organized. We’re moms and this is everyday life. However, this is what I’ve learned through trial and error that have helped exponentially over the years to give me just enough sanity to make it through the day.
1. Get your most dreaded tasks done first. I can’t stress this one enough. As soon as Branden leaves for school in the morning, after I’ve had my morning coffee jolt, I get the biggest projects or my most dreaded tasks done and out of the way. Seriously, the laundry can wait.
2. Don’t rely on your memory. Seriously. Gone are the days where I will EVER say “I’ll remember that.” Nope. Because I won’t and you probably won’t either. Write things down all day long.
3. Clean up regularly. I’m not saying to be cleaning all day, everyday. But I AM saying to not let things get out of control. Five minutes of cleaning, uploading, and folding here and there will save you hours of doing it all at one time.

4. Speaking of cleaning: take note of your household hotspots. What is a household hotspot? These are places that get cluttered quickly, where your family often gathers. If you can’t keep everything clean, make sure your hotspots are cleared.
5. Delegate, delegate, delegate. You can’t take on everything all by yourself, so don’t try to.
6. Know what’s happening with your money. I check our bank account almost obsessively and probably more than I should just because I’m a little nuts. I don’t use a money management app, which I know works for a lot of people, so if you would benefit, I definitely recommend having something handy in the financial department. This is a huge part of being organized because if your finances are a mess, then you are a mess.
7. Have a schedule. Seriously. Even if your kids are little and at home with you during the day. Blake will often ask, “what’s next mommy?” because she knows that I have a schedule to keep during the day and she’s a big part of that.
