Adding these simple (and delicious!) foods to your diet can help you feel younger inside and out!
Hey mama! Ready to make a change in what you’re eating? I know we’re all feeling a little icky these days being trapped indoors and while I’m always preaching about the proper skincare routine, the benefits really start with what you’re eating.

Despite being a natural part of life, aging is one major anxiety for many women. In fact, a New York Post article reveals that 25% of women constantly worry about showing signs of aging, further stating that 30% of those under 35 include an anti-wrinkle product in their skincare routine. While experts agree that starting an anti-aging regimen early on in a woman’s life is great, it’s important to remember that your diet plays a huge role in skin maintenance, too. With that in mind, we’ve come up with a list of 5 anti-aging foods that can help you glow from the inside out.
Avocados
This buttery and creamy fruit is brimming with anti-aging compounds that’ll leave your skin smooth and supple. For starters, avocados are rich in Vitamins C, E, and B — all essential in keeping your skin looking youthful. Moreover, the high amount of Vitamin A in avocados work from inside your body to help you easily slough off dead skin. One way of enjoying the fruit is by adding it into refreshing smoothies, like in our ‘Keto Smoothie Recipe: Berry Avocado’. But, this is entirely up to you. If you prefer avocados in savory meals, then feel free to make yourself a classic avocado toast.
Chia seeds
Though chia seeds are small, the South American staple should not be underestimated. They’re chock-full of antioxidants, which Pretty Me’s guide to chia seeds explains are key to fighting off free radicals. These substances are the culprits behind cell damage, which then leads to aging and certain diseases. Furthermore, chia seeds are a great source of fiber, which can help quickly flush out toxins that are stored in your skin. What’s great about chia seeds is that these can be enjoyed in a wide range of recipes — from soaking in overnight oats, to being sprinkled on top of salads.
Salmon
Whether raw or cooked, salmon is a great way to get some omega-3 fatty acids to help combat aging skin. This can be useful especially if you love being outdoors, since omega-3 fatty acids have been proven to reduce the UV and anti-aging damage your skin gets from being exposed to the sun. So, instead of getting your omega-3 fix from various fish oil capsules, savor salmon by grilling it, frying it in hot oil, or dousing it in soy sauce and wasabi.
Blueberries
There’s a reason why vibrant fruits like blueberries come in a beautiful dark hue — mostly to protect themselves from the sun’s harmful rays. Blueberries are full of a certain age-defying antioxidant called anthocyanin, as pointed out in the book Anthocyanins in Health and Disease. Furthermore, it also has some anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties to help you achieve an overall healthy body. The great thing about blueberries is that they’re available all year round, so you can reap their anti-aging benefits whenever you want.
Oranges
Merely thinking about oranges can make your mouth water. But other than being a delicious and juicy snack, oranges have anti-aging properties thanks to their high Vitamin C content. Vitamin C is often attributed to the production of collagen, which is credited for keeping your skin supple and elastic — and for those who are afraid of aging, this can be great news! So instead of keeping yourself hydrated with sugar-filled soda, try switching to natural orange juice to help you keep aging at bay.
