Blake is 3!

 

Another birthday on the books for our sweet Blake!

As I type these words, Blake is laying next to me in bed, watching Youtube videos on my phone with such intensity and eating her favorite thing in the world: Little Bites. How did my baby turn 3? I’m not sure, but wow, time certainly has flown.

Blake is 3!

I would love to sit here and write that we’ve got both her temper tantrums and potty training completely under control. But we don’t. We’ve clearly entered threenager territory and can tell that little miss sassy pants is learning how to push our buttons. She is certainly a girl who knows what she wants and I know that this very assertive skillset will lead her to do amazing things someday, but right now we butt heads on a daily basis.

Some things about her:

• She loves riding her bike, scooter and hiking
• Playing with her neighborhood friends is her favorite
• Watching Bubble Guppies, Wishenpoof, Princess Sofie and Masha and the Bear is an everyday thing
• She loves to eat dinosaur chicken nuggets, freeze pops, pickles, olives, pizza and gold fish for days
• Following in her big brother’s footsteps and copying everything he does
• She loves makeup and jewelry – especially mine
• If she isn’t getting 100% of your attention, she tends to get into trouble
• Imaginary play is a huge part of her days as she will run between cooking us all dinner in her kitchen, taking care of her baby dolls, and grocery shopping with her cart. I often find her dolls tucked to sleep in her bed, curtains closed and sound machine on.
• She still likes riding in the jogging stroller while I run, but only if she can bring along some stuffed friends, too
• She’s very much into shopping like me and wants everything sparkly
• She takes a purse almost everywhere she goes
• Daddy is most certainly her hero
• She never misses a beat and will remember everything you tell and observes everything around her with so much focus

She is very proud to be 3 and excited about what that means, even though I keep trying to tell her that going on the potty is a responsibility of hers now.

Oh our sweet Blake Everly, we wish you all the happiness in the world! Day after day, you smile lights up every room that you enter, you always have us giggling and you have a pure heart of gold. We love you so much!
