Gut health is a big topic around here and a focus since Blake was born. We just started focusing on Branden’s gut health and today I’m sharing an update!
This is a sponsored post. Thanks for supporting Project Motherhood!
Here we are…30 days into Branden’s gut health journey. If you would like to read our original post, you can start here. If not, I’m first going to share a quick recap below!
30 days ago: Branden was constantly approaching me in the morning with stomach problems. Once I ruled out that it wasn’t just that he didn’t want to go school (you gotta consider these things when you’re the parent of a teen!), I instantly felt so much empathy for him because I could relate. Stomach issues are no fun and I experienced them quite a bit growing up until I took control of my gut health. So we put Branden on a brand new regimen of Ameo Life Patented Process Probiotic to see how things would change after one month.

But, why Ameo Life Patented Process Probiotic? Coming from a person who has tried pretty much everything on the market (I really, truly kid you not!), I went to this brand automatically because they are what I take on a daily basis.
I love that they have all-natural ingredients, are shelf stable, keep you regular, promote energy levels, and help boost our immune systems. Our digestive system is, by design, extremely acidic. To ensure the survival rate of the probiotic microorganisms, Ameo Life incorporated OPTI-BIOME® Patented technology. This is unparalleled by any other brand out there.
Branden’s Gut Health Journey
As I mentioned in last month’s post, we first had a very candid discussion about nutrition, and Branden doing his best to eliminate as many processed foods as he can from his diet. He’s not a big vegetable eater so I stocked up on the few he does eat, as well as started buying even more fruit than I normally do. This made it a little easier to turn towards healthy things for snacks.
Second, Ameo Life Patented Process Probiotics have a serving size of two that they advise to take in the morning and evening. Since we know every body is different, we experimented with this at the beginning. I personally take 2 at the same time in the morning because that works best for me. For Branden, we figured out that taking 2 in the evening with dinner was a better option for him. This allowed his body to regulate so that he was ready to use the bathroom when he first woke up in the morning. (Translation: no running to the bathroom during school hours.)
Branden’s takeaways
First and foremost, it is NOT easy to get a 14-year-old boy to talk about his gut health, let alone let his mom write about it on her blog. I did a few key takeaways out of him, though, and truly hope they help you if you have a teen with stomach issues needing to set their gut health in the right direction.
- He DOES feel like his stomach aches have been less frequent since he started taking the Ameo Life Patented Process Probiotic – which is a HUGE WIN!
- He did feel like it took a good 3 weeks for his body to regulate, which I had explained to him when he first started.
- Remembering to take the probiotics every night after dinner was the hardest part.
- Overall he gives the experience a thumbs up and plans on continuing to take them.
