If I think about some of the clothes that I wore during my high school year, I cringe. They were very unique and most of them were designed and sewed by me – which makes the whole thing a little less cringe-worthy because that’s cool in my opinion. Sometimes I think back and wonder why my mom never stopped me from walking out the door in some of my crazy creations, but now having my own children I realize that it was because she was letting me explore my individuality. This is something huge that I really try to foster in our kids. And I love that the Oshkosh #beyourself campaign, running from July 27th-September 4th has the same vision: to let kids showcase their personal style as we start a new school year.

Branden didn’t really start to have an opinion about the clothes that he wears until recently, while Blake, on the other hand, started with her clothing opinions right away. If you can’t tell, right now everything must-have a tutu, which is why I’m loving these Oshkosh Tutu Leggings because I don’t have to worry about bloomers and they are really comfortable for her to play all day in. And these shoes? Forget about it – she’s been wearing these Oshkosh Gold Sneakers every single day since they arrived in the mail. And stripes are a big part of our life, we just love them and Blake has some pieces she wore from Oshkosh last year that she still loves, but this Heart Sequin Tee was a must to match with the leggings.

For Branden, I feel like we needed to buy him alllllll the cute back to school outfits for kids this year because this is the first year, ever, that he doesn’t have to wear a uniform! Hip, hip, hooray! He’s so excited about the idea of showing off his own unique style this year instead of wearing the same as everyone else. He’s not a huge fan of denim (though I encouraged him to get a few pairs, see below), but is obsessed with jogger pants. I love that Oshkosh has both the comfy version (which he can also wear to school, too), but also has these Canvas Joggers that are a little bit nicer for school and still really comfortable for him to wear. He also chose this really cool Lightning Bolt Pullover to go with them that is cozy and has a fun pattern.

I will say that out of everything, our little guy is most excited by this Colorblocked Pocket Tee and whenever it arrived he told me to just be aware that he’s going to be wearing it a lot! And we ordered these jeans in a few different washes. Oshkosh has a HUGE selection of denim for all kids, but Branden really loves the fit of the Boys Bootcut Jeans because he doesn’t like them too skinny, but not too baggy either.

As you can see, leggings are a big part of our life because they’re just so comfy and Oshkosh has so many cute prints to choose from! We fell in love with these Mix Knit Heart Leggings as soon as we spotted them. And this Bell Sleeve Pocket Top is effortless, comfortable and the perfect transitional item as we prepare for fall weather.
