If you told me years ago that motherhood would lead me to entrepreneurship, I would’ve raised an eyebrow while balancing a baby on one hip and reheating my coffee for the third time.

But here I am—building, scaling, and growing businesses as a mom. And not in spite of motherhood, but because of it.

This post is for the mompreneurs—the ones chasing naptime dreams, working after bedtime, and building big things with tiny humans always close by. Whether you’re already in business or just starting to toy with the idea, I want you to know: you have everything it takes to make this work.

Let’s decode what makes moms such powerful, purpose-driven entrepreneurs—and why this movement of mompreneurs is one I’m so passionate about supporting.

Decoding Mompreneurs: Why Moms Make The Best Business Owners

Over the years, working in the corporate world while also always having my side hustle, anytime I have sat down for a job interview, I’ve always shared my insight on why hiring moms is always the way to go. I don’t just think that moms make the most incredible employees, for all the reasons outlined below, but they are shaking the world by running impactful businesses.

From Motherhood to Mompreneurship: My Story

Before Project Motherhood became what it is today, I was a new mom trying to figure out where I fit into the picture.

I loved being a mom—but I also missed the parts of me that existed outside of that role. I had creativity. Drive. Ideas I couldn’t stop thinking about while folding laundry or doing late-night feeds.

And one day, I decided to stop pushing those dreams aside. I started writing. I built a platform. I learned how to turn my voice into value—and Project Motherhood was born. I have always loved fashion, and Project Motherhood became that outlet for me to still do what I loved and make money – perfection!

Since then, I’ve launched Influencer Secrets Academy, created digital products, built courses, and collaborated with other amazing women in the online space. And through all of it, one truth has stood out loud and clear: Moms make incredible business owners.

What Makes Mompreneurs So Special?

Being a mom changes you—and that transformation is a superpower in business. Here’s why:

1. Mompreneurs Know How to Prioritize Like Pros

Motherhood is a masterclass in time management. When you’re juggling school runs, dinner, appointments, and that never-ending pile of laundry, you learn real quick what actually matters. That skill transfers beautifully into entrepreneurship.

Mompreneurs don’t waste time. We focus fast, move quickly, and know how to make strategic decisions on limited bandwidth.

2. We’re Resilient—Like, Really Resilient

Spilled juice, canceled plans, a sick kid during your big pitch call? We’ve weathered it all—and still show up. That level of resilience is unmatched, and it’s exactly what entrepreneurship demands.

Every challenge becomes a chance to adapt. Every setback is a setup for a comeback.

3. We Build With Heart

At our core, moms build businesses differently. We lead with empathy, purpose, and a strong “why.” Whether it’s creating financial freedom for our families, helping other women, or showing our kids what’s possible—mompreneurs are driven by something deeper.

That emotional connection becomes our brand’s greatest strength.

4. We See Possibility in the Everyday

Moms are creative by nature. We’re used to finding solutions in chaos, repurposing leftovers into dinner, and turning bath time into a Broadway show. That same creativity is what fuels innovation in business.

A lot of the best ideas come while we’re driving to Target or waiting in the school pickup line—and we act on them.

The Rise of the Mompreneur

In recent years, we’ve seen a massive rise in mompreneurs—and for good reason. The 9–5 model doesn’t always fit motherhood. Traditional career paths often don’t offer the flexibility we need.

So we make our own paths.
We launch brands from our kitchen tables.
We record podcasts during nap time.
We send emails with a baby on our lap.

And we’re not slowing down anytime soon.
