DIY Moisturizing Facial Mist Recipe
You have all been such huge fans of my super easy DIY facial mist recipe, so today we’re taking that up a notch and adding moisture, moisture, and more moisture!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup distilled water
- 2 tablespoons rose water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
- 5-7 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare a Clean Spray Bottle
Start by ensuring that your spray bottle is clean and sterilized. This will help maintain the freshness and longevity of your facial mist. You can easily find empty spray bottles at your local beauty or craft store.
Step 2: Combine the Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine the distilled water, rose water, vegetable glycerin, and essential oil (if using). The distilled water serves as the base of your facial mist, while rose water provides hydration and a soothing effect. Vegetable glycerin acts as a humectant, drawing moisture to your skin, and essential oils add a delightful aroma and potential additional benefits.
Step 3: Mix Well
Using a spoon or whisk, stir the ingredients together until they are well blended. Ensure that the vegetable glycerin is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
Step 4: Transfer to the Spray Bottle
Carefully pour the mixture into your clean spray bottle. Use a funnel if necessary to avoid spills. Leave a little space at the top of the bottle to allow for easy spraying and mixing before each use.
Step 5: Shake and Store
Secure the cap of the spray bottle tightly and give it a good shake to combine the ingredients. Store your DIY facial mist in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. It’s best to use it within two to three weeks to ensure freshness.
Step 6: Enjoy Your Refreshing Facial Mist
To use your moisturizing facial mist, simply shake the bottle before each use to ensure that the ingredients are well mixed. Close your eyes and hold the bottle about six inches away from your face. Mist your face lightly, allowing the mist to settle on your skin. You can use it whenever you need a burst of hydration throughout the day or as a refreshing pick-me-up.
Benefits of DIY Moisturizing Facial Mist:
