Essential Oils for Self Care to Add to Your Daily Routine
I shared a while ago just how important both self care and essential oils are in my life. In fact, I’ve been starting to get really adventurous and finally start using essential oils in news ways, such as body oils and for toxic-free home cleaning products. They are engrained in my life at this point. They are just so great for your overall well being!
Since we hear so much about self care lately, I think it’s made all of us asses how well we are really taking care of ourselves. This doubles is we’re busy moms. It’s really incredible how quickly we can experience mom burnout if we aren’t just taking a few minutes a day to do something that helps to center us. But of course, when we have little people and big people and houses and jobs, it can be hard to take that time. This is where essential oils for self care come in. It takes literally no time to throw a few drops of essential oils into your diffuser while you are getting ready for the day or in the evening for bed. You can also put them directly on your skin or blends them and apply like perfume on your body. The options are endless and the impact on your life is great.

Lavender
I always have lavender essential oil handy no matter what. I put it directly on my wrists and temples every night before bed because it is so incredibly calming, helps with anxiety, reduces stress and helps you sleep. Pair it with chamomile for the ultimate nighttime elixir. All of these things are a crucial part of living a healthy lifestyle and taking care of yourself because you can’t get through the day if you’re tired, anxious and stressed.
Sweet Orange
Sweet orange is so wonderful and it’s smell always makes me want to eat it – it’s so refreshing and lovely! Sweet orange oil is an immediate mood booster and every time I put a few drops in my diffuser, I instantly feel a difference in my perception of the world, my day – everything. There is just something about citrus that is an immediate pick me up!
Ylang-Ylang
This one smells great, too, but also does wonders for trigger a better mood and releasing any negative vibes. Once ylang-ylang essential oil is inhaled, it acts as a safe anti-depressant and can help you release anger, jealousy and even low self-esteem. It will even help to combat fatigue – so keep this one in your purse!
Frankincense
Known to be one of the most powerful essential oils, Frankincense is wonderful to use whenever you are taking a few minutes to meditate and connect with yourself. It can be applied directly behind the ear or to the bottoms of your feet for almost immediate satisfaction. It will relax you, help to battle mental fatigue and can even help you to feel more spiritually connected. Seriously, Frankincense essential oil is a must-have!
Peppermint
Not just used in candy canes, Peppermint essential oil is amazing to help you focus better during the day.
