Encouraging a Love For Music With Guitar Center
I grew up with my dad playing guitar and my parents always playing things like the Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack, Phil Collins, Elton John and Pink Floyd in our home. I was always in the school choir and even tried my hand at playing the clarinet for a short period of time. Chris played guitar as a kid and his love of techno music often taken over our home. With all of that instilled in Branden, we totally aimed to encourage him if a musical passion filled him up inside.
Branden loves to sign and is currently in his second year of school choir, but just this year, at the start of a 5th grade and being at a new school with an incredibly inspiring music program – he expressed interest in learning how to play the guitar. I knew that our first stop to allow him to fully experience all that playing an instrument is would be to our local Guitar Center. (<- click that link to find a Guitar Center nearest to you)
I have very fond memories of visiting Guitar Center with my dad as a kid and wanted the experience to be the same for Branden, as I knew stepping foot inside would completely nurture his love for playing whichever instrument that he ended up choosing. With over 200 locations nationally and a complete focus on instilling all the benefits of music education – it’s seriously a one stop shop!
What makes Guitar Center Different?
Music does so many amazing things for children, like boosting self-confidence, helping with their social skills, cognitive development, self-expression and helps them works on self-discipline – all skill that will help them develop into well-rounded adults. We’re so excited to start this musical journey with Branden and know that he’s capable of doing so much with his new instrument. There is something so special to me about having a relationship with music of all kinds and I’m thankful that Guitar Center hones in on so many elements of that so that children can walk away playing an instrument (or even singing!) of their choice.
XOXO,
Allison

Music is a huge part of our family, too! Our son started guitar last year and I agree it’s so important to have a good resource like Guitar Center to encourage them and help them stay on track.

Music is an excellent way to broaden horizons AND it broadens the mind. Music has been shown to activate different pathways in the brain. I think all kids should have music lessons.

When my husband was younger he always wanted to play guitar. I hope that my son can eventually learn too.

That is SO SWEET! I love that little smile…. 🙂 Guitar Center is so much more than I realized. I want my nieces to start playing instruments, so I will be sharing this with my sister, for sure!

Sounds like a lot of fun. My daughters are starting to show some interest in music. I honestly would love it if they’d want to play the guitar.

We’re a huge fan of music programs and love Guitar Center!!! I could spend hours in that store! 🙂 My daughter just started taking violin lessons this year. I’m hoping she’ll eventually learn to play a few other instruments as well!
