You won’t be able to choose which of these 9 healthy breakfast recipes to try first. Your family will love every single one!
Soooo…..we all know that the best way to start the day is with a healthy breakfast, right? But mornings are nothing short of hectic and sometimes we end up going for default meals that are quick, but not so healthy. Well, I’m here to share with you all today some super healthy breakfast recipes from over the years to remind you all that starting the day off on a healthy note really is possible. (Where are my praise hands when I need them?)
9 Healthy Breakfast Recipes To Kick Start Your Day
First things first: our mornings are chaotic and in most cases, I’m hopeful that I will just get Branden to the bus stop on time. I’ve shared with you all about how he has recently been diagnosed with ADHD, so our mornings are really hit or miss. The medication that he takes each morning with applesauce makes him lose his appetite during the school day, so we make it a priority to make sure that he has a healthy breakfast before leaving for school each morning – especially when I know he might be skipping lunch. Every single one of these healthy breakfast recipes is approved by my kiddos (except for the detox drink) and I’m certain your family will love them, too!

Healthy breakfast foods to start your day right
1. Oatmeal Cranberry Energy Bites
I can’t stress enough how much these oatmeal cranberry energy bites are a winner in our home. They take 5 minutes to make and you can easily double or triple the batch and have enough for the whole week!
2. Skinny Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
We all know how popular Starbuck’s pumpkin spice latte is and this skinny pumpkin spice smoothie is the perfect healthy breakfast alternative. It’s soooo good and can be whipped up in your blender fairly quickly in the morning. Tip: if making smoothies in the morning isn’t your thing, you can make it in advance and freeze single portions and place them in the fridge to defrost overnight and have them ready for the morning.
3. Keto Energy Bites
With so many people on the popular keto diet, I created this recipe to give me a boost in the morning as well as have a quick, healthy breakfast on hand.
4. Banana Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are a huge win for busy familes (I have one other version if you keep scrolling!) and are chock filled with so many wonderful vitamins and minerals. I ate them almost everyday whenever I was pregnant and nursing, too, because of this reason alone. You can switch them up if you choose, but adding chia seeds is a wonderful way to boost the vitamins!
5. Cherry Yogurt Parfait
I created this recipe years ago because I’m a HUGE parfait lover! Add whichever fruits are on sale, and swap out the sweetened coconut for unsweetened and you are good to go. Tip: swap out your evening ice cream treat for this healthy breakfast to cut calories!
6. Breakfast Cookies
A cookie for breakfast? What the what? Yes, this is one of my favorite healthy breakfast foods! Made with oats, bananas and super low in sugar, your kids won’t be able to keep their hands off of them.
7. Energy Smoothie
I developed this energy smoothie recipe whenever I was pregnant with Blake because I was craving something tropical and instantly noticed an energy boost after I drank it. This smoothie is filled with everything your body is yearning for whenever it’s starting to feel sluggish – it’s a great afternoon pick me up, too.
8. Pumpkin Overnight Oats
I promise you that I had one more overnight oats recipe! I think I might actually like this one better than the first because pumpkin is one of my favorite flavors in the world. No need to wait until Thanksgiving to whip them out, we enjoy this all year long.
9. Morning Detox Drink
And lastly, I know this is not necessarily a breakfast food per se, but a drink. However, I still incorporate this or different versions of this when I don’t have all the ingirident handy into my weekly routine. Your body will thank you whenever it’s all nice and reset!
