Healthy Game Day Appetizers For The Whole Family
Whether you’re a football loving family or counting down the minutes until the half time show (raises hand), there’s one thing for sure: everyones looking for the best game day appetizers to chow down on. You all know how important living a healthy lifestyle is to me and game day doesn’t bring on any exceptions – in fact the decisions about what to eat get even more difficult. I am ALL about easy game day appetizers and even using these delish recipes to replace dinner on that special night, but I gotta keep things balanced with these 2, healthy game day appetizers that won’t leave you with any regrets the next day. And my whole family loved them both – which says a lot because it’s picky eater central over here. And both recipes are made even more mouth watering when they get dipped into our house hold favorites, RAGÚ® Double Cheddar cheese sauce and RAGÚ® Old World Style Traditional Sauce. Yum.
Easy game day appetizers
Ok friends! First things first: I love to eat. I mean if calories didn’t mean much of anything, I would be stuffing my face all day. I also am not the best when it comes to coming up with creative meals. I rely on simple meals and some special little helpers like our RAGÚ® favorites to delishify (yes, I made up a word) my kitchen creations.
The RAGÚ® Old World Style Traditional Sauce is known for its smooth flavor, vine-ripened tomatoes, traditional style and loved by moms everywhere for it’s two serving of veggies per 1/2 cup of sauce. The RAGÚ® Double Cheddar Sauce is great for your favorite macaroni and cheese recipes (currently Blake’s favorite thing), features cheddar, Romano and parmesan cheese – and is great for dipping, too!
Both of these easy game day appetizers can be made using 7 ingredients total (including our RAGÚ® dipping sauces) and I promise will both be crowd pleasers. They are air fryer appetizers, this just makes cooking them a little quicker in my opinion, but they can also be thrown into the oven, too.
The best game day appetizers
Today, I’m whipping up air fried ravioli and air fried cauliflower – both are absolutely mouth watering and so much lighter on the calories then their deep friend counterparts. Here’s what you need to make the best game day appetizers:
- 1 head of fresh cauliflower
- 1 bag of frozen raviolis (defrosted)
- Italian bread crumbs
- 4-5 eggs
- Cooking spray
- RAGÚ Old World Style Traditional Sauce
- RAGÚ Double Cheddar Sauce
How to make these easy game day appetizer recipes
Step 1: Pre-heat your air fryer or oven to 400 degrees. Beat your eggs into a small bowl, then wash and chop your cauliflower.
Step 2: Dip each piece of cauliflower into your egg.
Step 3: Then dip right into your bread crumbs. Spray your air fryer or baking dish with some cooking spray.
Step 4: Add them in one layer and spray more cooking spray on top. Bake or air fry for 10-15 minutes depending on how crispy you want them.
Step 5: Repeat step 2-4 with your raviolis. Most likely you’ll have to do these in a few batches because you really want them to be in a single layer.
Step 6: Pour your RAGÚ® Double Cheddar cheese sauce and RAGÚ® Old World Style Traditional Sauce in separate bowls and arrange your “fried” healthy game day appetizers on the plate next to them. (Hint: both the raviolis and cauliflower taste great in both sauces!)
I seriously couldn’t keep these on the plate very long once my family got their hands on them and it was also a great way for me to sneak some veggies into their day. And one last fun fact: we’ve never actually had friend raviolis before but I’ve seen them on menus tons of times and knew that I could create a healthier version.

These look tasty! My husband bought me an air fryer for Christmas and I immediately fell in love. It’s amazing how great the food tastes without all the oil and grease. I haven’t thought about trying cauliflower like that. It’s one of my favorite veggies – I’ll definitely be trying them!
