How Do You Make Homemade Lotion?
I wish that I knew in the past how easy it really is to make homemade lotion because I would seriously be quadrupling this recipe and making sure that every bathroom was filled with bottles of it years ago!

It does take about 20 minutes to make this recipe and you will need to do it on a stovetop so if you have little hands helping, make sure you take all the necessary precautions. And the shelf life of this recipe is about 6 weeks, but if your family is anything like mine, it won’t last long!
Easy Homemade Lotion Recipe
Ok, here we go!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup distilled water
- 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin
- 2 tsp coconut oil (solid)
- 2 tsp emulsifying wax
- 1/4 tsp beeswax
- 1 tbsp almond oil
- 4 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil
- 7 drops Mandarin Essential Oil
- Small blender
- Food thermometer
- small sealable container
How to make the homemade lotion recipe
Step one: Use a double boiler and stir the distilled water with the vegetable glycerine.
Step two: In a separate double boiler add the almond oil, coconut oil, beeswax, and emulsifying wax.
Step three: Heat the mixtures to 150 degrees Fahrenheit at the same time. This is important because the emulsion will not happen if the mixture is not at the correct temperature. Take them off the heat once they reach the temperature.
Step four: Pour the water mixture into a blender. Turn on the blender so that a vortex forms. Slowly add wax mixture and blend for 5 to seven minutes until you can see it is thoroughly blended.
Step five: Allow to cool and then add in the essential oils.
Step six: Pour your lotion into a sealable container and label it.
To use the easy lotion recipe: Apply to hands, feet, or body. To use as a moisturizing mask, wrap a warm, wet towel around the area you apply it to.
