Being a work at home mom means wearing a lot of hats—often all in the same hour. There’s the laundry, the Zoom calls, the snack prep, the deadlines, and the never-ending to-do list that somehow resets itself overnight. And while it’s not always picture-perfect, I’ve found that having some intentional structure to my day makes a huge difference—for my productivity, my mindset, and my family.

If you’ve ever wondered how another work at home mom actually gets it all done (or tries to), I’m pulling back the curtain on what my days really look like.

I also shared a behind-the-scenes vlog of this day on Instagram—watch it right here if you want the real-life version!

How I Structure My Day as a Work at Home Mom

Overall, as a work at home mom, I have a lot of wiggle room in my day. If someone misses the bus or stays home from school sick, I’m able to be present for them and handle any chaos that might come my way. However, I am very much a creature of habit and truly thrive when I have a routine, so most of my days look like what you see below.

How I Structure My Day as a Work at Home Mom

☀️ 6:00 AM – Morning Routine (AKA My Sanity Saver)

My alarm goes off at 6:00 AM, and while I won’t pretend I always bounce out of bed, this time before the rest of the house wakes up is truly mine. I keep it simple but intentional:

This quiet pocket helps me feel in control before the chaos begins.

Products I use during this time: ActivedYou every single day (water BEFORE coffee!). You can also read more about why I start each day with ActivatedYou here, it is simply a non-negotiable in my morning!

👩‍👧‍👦 6:30 AM -7:45 AM– Mom Mode: School Mornings

From 6:30-7:45 AM, I’m all in on mom duties. Breakfast, getting the kids ready, packing lunches, making sure they don’t miss the bus—this hour is busy, but I’ve learned to protect it instead of multitasking.

Instead of checking emails or working in between, I stay present. It makes the whole morning feel smoother for everyone.

💻 8:00 AM – Deep Work Block

Once everyone is settled and the house quiets down, I dive into focused work. From 8:00 to 10:30 AM, I tackle tasks that need strategy, creativity, and zero distractions.

This might look like:

  • Writing blog content or brand strategy docs
  • Planning social content for Influencer Secrets or Project Motherhood
  • Leading calls or developing digital campaign strategies
  • Prepping deliverables for brand clients

Phone goes on Do Not Disturb, music goes on low, and I treat this block like gold.

💪🏼 10:30 AM – Break + Movement

By mid-morning, I need to move. I lift 4x per week (read more about why weight lifting is amazing for women here!), and then now that the weather is nice, I try to do a walk and yap (IYKYK) for about 4 miles, 4x per week with my friends. I’ll then shower, grab a protein drink for lunch afterwards (I’m currently eating in a calorie deficit, so I keep it macro-friendly) and then I will get back to work.

On the vlog I shared here, you’ll see how I prioritize getting in movement daily—whether it’s a walk, strength training, or just moving around the house.

This break helps reset my energy for the second half of the day.

🧠 12:30 PM – Light Work + Admin

Afternoons are made for tasks that are important, but less mentally heavy:

  • Social scheduling
  • Reviewing creative
  • Responding to emails
  • Admin catch-up or planning upcoming events (like our Youngstown wellness event!)

This is also when I’ll take lighter calls or coaching sessions. I’m still working—but I’m not pushing myself to be at my peak focus.

🚌 2:30 PM – Kids Start Getting Off Bus + Transition Back to Mom Life

By 4:00 PM, my workday wraps and I’m back in mom mode. Whether it’s snacks, sports, homework, or laundry—we shift gears hard. If needed, I’ll squeeze in light work later in the evening, but I try to keep this window focused on family.

And honestly? That’s one of the biggest perks of being a work at home mom: the flexibility to be present in these everyday moments.

🌙 8:30 PM – Evening Reset

After bedtime routines and winding down, I take 15–20 minutes to reset:

  • Look at my calendar for tomorrow
  • Brain-dump any lingering thoughts
  • Tidy my workspace
  • Mentally close the loop on the day

Even this tiny bit of structure helps me sleep better and wake up clearer.
