Creating a kids corner for crafting is a great way to have a space dedicated to your little artists creativity and keep them busy for hours!
This is a sponsored post. Thanks for supporting Project Motherhood!
I realized very early on that Branden could sit and watch a tv show or play with toys and be kept busy for hours. Blake on the other hand has to be constantly busy doing something. So. Many. Things. She can watch a show, as long as she is playing with Barbies, too, for example. So whenever she was given her first official craft project as a gift by my mom and she was instantly focused for 2 hours, I knew that this was her thing.
So we decided to create a kids corner in her room for crafting with the help of our friends at Ooly so that she has everything she needed at her disposal to master her art skills, craft, paint, and so much more!
How to Create A Kids Corner For Crafting
We decided to create a kids corner for crafting in her bedroom because its her own special place in the house to work on all of her fun projects. She’s also very into making gifts and letters for us and friends and family, so it gives her a little bit of privacy to work on those without anyone else overseeing.
And of course, I’m sure you’re wondering why we would let her do this whenever crafting can be so messy? Thanks to Ooly, most of their supplies (markers, paint, crayons, etc) are either washable or erasable.
If you follow me on Instagram, you have heard me sing the prasises of Ooly before (if not, check out my post HERE). This awesome company is vibrantly fun, cute, and oh so joyful, AND they deliver arts and crafts and school supplies right to your front door. Everything is extremely high quality, durable, and last long enough to keep up with your little one’s immagination, which is saying a lot.
We started her kids corner for crafts by clearing out a space in the corner of her room that would be used just for the purpose of letting her inner artisit run wild. We lucikly already had these nifty cubbies that are perfect for storing her Ooly art supplies and emptied them to get ready (well, excet for the rainbow colored feather that she could part with.)
Then, she sorted out all of her Ooly supplies! We started with a mixture of sketch books, crafts, markers, paints, crayons, glitter pens, pencils, and watercolors.
Then, taking some of the skills she’s learning in school, she sorted the art supplies into all of the different cubbies based on medium and type of craft she would be using them for. It was such a fun way for her to get a good look at all of her new supplies and start planning out her future projects as she organized!
Her kids corner for crafting was complete whenever we had all the bins filled with her vibrant colored Ooly supplies and was finally able to open up her large sketchbook and start doing what she does best – crafting and being the little artisit she truly is!
If you have a little one with a big imagination who loves art, I recomend checking out Ooly and picking out some of their favorite mediums to work with. They also offerr FREE shipping on orders of $40 or more. Did someone say the perfect Christmas gifts that keep them away from so much screen time?
XOXO,
Allison
