How to Get Your Makeup to Last All Day
There are a few different things you can do to set your makeup and make sure it lasts all day long. You can use all of these tricks below together, especially if you’re applying your makeup at 7am in the morning and want it to last all the way up until the evening, or you can do just a few things to avoid creases, smearing, transferring, etc.
First, I know that a lot of people are most accustom to starting with a primer if they want their makeup to last a long time, and while we don’t sell a primer at Beautycounter, we do believe that if you have a proper skin care routine that your skin doesn’t need a primer. I thought this was weird at first, since I’ve used primers pretty much my whole life up until this point, however, once I upgraded my skincare products, I did notice a huge change in the way that my skin received makeup.
How to Set Your Makeup
Step one: Cleanse and Moisturize
These are seriously the only thing that you need to do to prep your skin to apply your makeup. As long as your skin is healthy and properly moisturized, it will receive your makeup application flawlessly. I personally prefer to use an oil cleanser for extra hydration and instantly plumper skin.

Step two: Apply your makeup as normal (always adding a base for your eyeshadow!)
Follow your normal makeup application regimen after prepping your skin for application. Your foundation or tinted moisturizer will really grab everything and make sure it starts to set it in place. Whenever you get to your eyes, make sure that you are applying a base for your eye shadow. I sometimes will also apply a think layer of concealer before my shadow for extra long days.

Step Three: Finish with a Setting Powder + Rosewater Spray
This is the most important step of all when you set your makeup: make sure you apply a light dusting of our finishing powder and finish with a few quick sprays of our rosewater spray. This will set everything into place with ease while still making sure that your skin is glowing, hydrated and nourished throughout the day (aka no cracking or pilling makeup).
