Colorblocking hit the runway years ago and has now trickled down to everyday wear. Here’s how I styled this chic color block sweater.
I kinda feared colorblocking whenever I first saw it hit the runways. I’ve never been a fan of how designers styled this trend and even more than that – I REALLY disliked how the colors never seemed to really go together. But, I think we can also thanks all of these high end designers because the trend finally trickled down a couple years ago into much more easy to wear pieces for everyday looks. I’ll be the first to admit that this is the first time that I have ever owned a piece that fit the colorblocking mold, but I feel in love with this color block sweater and will probably add more pieces like this to my closet in the future.

So what is colorblocking?
It’s simply whenever the piece of clothing incorporates blocks of color into the piece of clothing versus a patters or design. You can also jump on the colorblocking bandwagon by wearing one solid color on top and one solid color on the bottom. There are so many different ways to interpret the trend that you can really make it your own.

I love how this sweater is pretty lightweight, so it’s not bulky underneath your winter coat and the little faux-neck is perfection. I’m not a fan of a full turtle neck, so this is the perfect common ground. I paired this sweater with black legging in this photo, however, I’ve worn it with skinny jeans, too, for an equally chic look.
