Us New Yorkers are known for loving a wardrobe that’s filled with lots of black. Don’t get me wrong, I have my favorite little black dress hanging in my closet, but as soon as warmer weather becomes the norm, you best bet that florals are coming to the forefront in my closet. Since we’ve been chatting warm weather dresses with the uber trendy knot-front dress and embroidered dress, I thought it was time to switch up our mom style discussion to florals.
// Cold Shoulder Blouse c/o Pink Blush //
Today, I’m sharing some of my floral favorites from Pink Blush where (if you’ve followed along through my pregnancy) has been one of my favorites for quite some time. They have an awesome selection of maternity, women’s and plus – so get shopping!
If you’re going to wear a printed, floral top, I suggest always pairing it with more solid items like denim and a solid color sandal. And of course – don’t forget your shades. This is especially important whenever you’re also mixing the pattern with another trend like me – the cold shoulder trend – because you don’t want your outfit to get overwhelming.
You’ve heard me say for a while that I’ve wanted to try out the off the shoulder trend that’s absolutely everywhere this season and I finally did! I’m pretty much in love because it really is an effortless style, but I do recommend making sure that your pair it with a skinny pant or bottom since most open shoulder tops are more on the tunics side. It just makes for a more balanced look (but you can learn more about dressing for your body shape here)
This Floral Off The Shoulder Blouse is really great, too because it’s made from a starchy, moveable fabric that still allowed me to chase after little Blake who was crawling all over the place as we took these pictures (check out my Instagram stories and I’ll share a little behind the scenes snap!).
I’m sure you’re wondering where in the city I am for these pictures, huh? I’m actually right behind the iconic Lincoln Center! If you walk past the main area and go to the left, you will find these gorgeous gardens (where I’m wearing the cold shoulder top) and to the right you will find a beautiful pond and architecture (in the off the shoulder blouse). You never know what you will find in this city!
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
