Looking to add a little extra hydration to your day? This hydrating facial mist spray recipe is a luxe way to add a healthy boost to your skin!

Since practicing social distancing and going back and forth between inside our house and playing outside all day, it’s left with SOME time (I mean, just a teeny tiny bit…because kids, ya know?) to focus on things other than the daily grind. Don’t get me wrong, I’m most definitely not here to tell you all the things that you “should” be doing, because getting through each day is plenty right now. I have made sure that one little part of my day that remains the same is my skincare routine and I’ve figured out some new ways to make it even better.
If you’ve been reading along for a while now, you know that I’m a huge fan of ZeroWater and that I’ve worked with this amazing company for quite some time now. You also know that clean beauty is my jam. So I kinda had an epiphany about the combination of the two: shouldn’t we be as concerned about the water we are washing our precious skin with as we do what we’re putting inside our bodies?
The answer is: yes!
What’s different about cleansing with ZeroWater?
If this is your first introduction to ZeroWater, you’re going to be completely blown away. Zerowater is the top of the line filtration system that filters through 5 different stages (versus only 2, which most filters have). Due to their immense detail during this process, their filters are able to dissolve virtually all solids that are found in typical tap water – making it ZERO solids in your water. If you visit their website HERE, and scroll down halfway, you’re able to enter your zip code to see how the water measures up where you live.
Once you see those numbers, you’re able to see in a more tangible way what you are washing your face with. Remember that the whole point of washing your face is to get rid of impurities that will cause things like infections on your skin (breakouts), aging, and more? Well, if you’re washing with what’s coming out of your sink, you’re just adding more crap to your face. Is your mind blown yet?
Hydrating Facial Mist Spray Recipe
Making products at home that you use on your skin gives you the power of controlling what’s being used in your beauty products. This hydrating facial mist spray is a great thing to have handy to keep your skin moisturized throughout the day and is even wonderful to set your makeup with. And as the weather gets warmer out, I recommend storing your hydrating facial mist spray in your refrigerator for a cooling mist throughout the day. It’s even safe to use on kids – Blake asks me for squirts of it all day long!
What you need to make this hydrating facial mist spray:
- 1 small spray bottle
- 1/2 cup filtered ZeroWater
- 1-2 tbsp of Witchhazel
- 1 tbsp of your favorite oil (I’m a big fan of Rosehip Oil)
- 4 drops of your favorite essential oils (optional) Rose is great for softening the skin and stay away from citrus because it can make you more susceptible to sunburn
Mix all of your ingredients together in your spray bottle, let sit for an hour or so and then you are ready to spray. To use, simply close your eyes and give your face 2-3 squirts as needed. You will immediately feel a difference!
