Over the past couple of months my husband and I have noticed that our fun loving little man is starting to develop a little bit of a grumpy personality. Maybe it has to do a little bit with him being an only child and everyone typically revolving their lives around him. And which could be in direct correlation to our parenting, which we totally take responsibility for. But whatever way you look at it, he has developed the nick-name: Mr. Grumpy.
The nick-name was solidified whenever we spent a recent Saturday afternoon at Union square picking up berries at the Green Market, playing in the playground, (which, by the way….if you happen to take your kiddos there and find a full week’s worth of Align laying on the ground somewhere, it belongs to me. What an embarrassing thing to fall out of my purse!) and our usual last stop being The Strand Bookstore. My hubby and Branden headed to the children’s section, and I set off to track down a copy of Andy Cohen’s Most Talkative. (Believe me, I know that The Strand is filled with magical books, I just have a thing for Andy Cohen and the BRAVO network as a whole, don’t judge.)
While I was sheepishly asking the sales associate to help me find my book, Chris stumbled upon these amazing mugs they have there, which are all kids-sized. Being that it said “Mr. Grumpy” on it made the whole concept so perfect, so we of course bought it for Mr. Grumpy himself.
I hope that my sweet Branden doesn’t develop a complex due to his parents’ running joke. But sometimes a little teasing is all you need, since Branden’s attitude has improved a bit since the purchase was made, Hehe.
What’s the story behind your little ones’ nick-names?
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
