More than any other time during the year, now is the time that we start to feel achy and the kids are staying home from school more and more. We’re all trying to take extra precautions so that we don’t get sick, but more and more, we’re (me included!), treating illness once it has already started instead of just going back to basics are trying to prevent it before it even begins. 8 Unexpected Ways to Naturally Boost Your Immune System
If you have been wondering “can you boost your immune system?” The answer is a hard yes.
And, if you’re like me and always searching for the most organic way to do things before medication needs to get involved, then you will love to be able to boost your immune system with these tips.
1.Add more fruits and vegetables to your life.
This seems like the simplest and most “duh” thing, but it is one of the most impactful ways to take your immune system to a much better place. Fruits and veggies are jam packed with so many amazing vitamins that adding them to each meal has endless benefits.
2. Working out.
Don’t let the cold weather slow down your regular workout routine – make it happen, mama! Working out invigorates you and gets the endorphins pumping.

3. Proper Hygiene
I don’t just mean washing your hands often, though that’s important, too. But regular showering and making sure your hands are clean before preparing any meals or drinks.
4. No smoking and limit drinking.
Pretty self explanatory. Both of these things greatly diminish our immune system.
5. Spend more time in the sun.
Vitamin D, duh.
6. Try turmeric.
I’ve been exploring the use of turmeric more and more and so far, I’m loving what I’m seeing. It’s the key ingredient in the super popular hot drink, golden milk, and for some pretty epic reasons. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties and almost instantly boosts immunity. It is also being found to play a key role in preventing different types of Cancer and even Alzheimer’s. You can find it here on Amazon.
7. Take a detox bath.
I recently some amazing detox bath recipes and each and every one does amazing things to help remove unwanted toxins from your body to help reset and boost your immune system. If you can spare 10, lovey minutes in the tub, twice a week, you will be well on your way to boost your immune system naturally.
8. Add spice to your cooking.
Adding spices like pure garlic and ginger to anything you are cooking does amazing things to boost your immune system. Raw garlic has both cancer fighting and antimicrobial properties, while ginger has been used in so many traditional medicines for centuries to help with things like nausea, colds, and flu symptoms. My favorite way to enjoy ginger is in this simple detox drink recipe. Yum!
