Thoughts on the new year, reflections on the past year, and a little bit of everything in between!

I spent the last almost week of 2021 feeling pretty sick. I think it was a result of too much holiday, too much work, and not enough down time, which made it last longer than it should have. Sound familiar? I know I’m not the only one.
If you’ve been following along for years, however, you know that this gray, weird week between Christmas and New Years has always been an odd favorite of mine because I love goal setting and planning for the new year. I did order my new 2022 planner, so at least that one, important task was done.
Well, this year I am a little bit behind. And that’s okay, because it taught me an important lesson: slow down.
Easier said than done, right?
Working in the freelance space means essentially that I don’t get paid for days off, so if I take a day off then I have to makeup the work somewhere else. This momentum always leads me to just keep pushing through, even if I’m under the weather to avoid a pile-up of work.

Which leads me to my next big goal for the New Year…
New Year, Big Goals
For the first time this year, I’m jumping on the whole “manifesting” bandwagon. If you aren’t familiar, manifesting is very similar to the laws of attraction where you recieve what you put out into the universe. Oprah Daily defines manifesting as, “bringing something tangible into your life through attraction and belief, i.e. if you think it, and it will come.”
Overall, you need to know exactly what you want and talk about it, visualize it, meditate about it, and take actionable steps towards that goal or dream.
I’m not sure why I never jumped on this bandwagon before, but towards the end of 2021, I started repeating aloud more often, especailly to my husband what I really want personally, what he wasnts personally, and things we want for our family as a whole and it’s been very fruitful so far.

As many of you many know, I shared earlier this year that a goal of mine was to start taking on some clients and have at least a part-time schedule by the time Blake went back to pre-school in September. Well, I ended up with that workload actually starting at the end of June. The power of manifesting!
So now, I’m thinking a little bit bigger.
I’m taking on more clients and hired a badass small team of women to work with me. (If you or someone you know is looking for digital marketing serivce, click here to schedule a FREE discovery call with me!) I want to continue working more on the part-time side, but bring in full-time money and it is 100% possible to do this with the groundwork I’ve laid out for myself. I want to spend more time working in strategy and implementing social and content strategy vs. some of the daily tasks I’m currently doing that are sucking up my time.
Basically: I’m restructuring the way I run my business in the new year and I’m very excited about the whole process.
