I can’t tell you how excited I am to start my favorite series again on the blog! It can be overwhelming at times as women and mothers, looking in the mirror and feeling like we are on a roller coaster everyday. Sometimes we love what we see, sometimes we hate it – that’s what this Confessions series is all about. Each week we will be sharing new stories of amazing women who struggle with their body shape, the same way we all do.
“Mind of a Fashionista” Shares Her Pear Shaped Body Confessions
I’m so happy to introduce you all today to the Mama behind Mind of a Fashionista (check her website out – you will love it!), AK Brown. She loves sharing her style with the world through her website, but after having her baby 3 years ago, noticed changes in her body – in a great way! So just like with any change, she needed to roll with the punches and learn to dress her new curvy figure. Here’s how AK’s rockin’ her pear shaped body.
How would you describe your style?
A little bit of everything mixed all together into my own.
What are your biggest body shape struggles?
My arms are a little big so its hard for me to get shirts on and off, I have a little gut so I need to find shirts that are flattering, and i have a butt and big thighs so it’s hard to find pants that are flattering.
What are your favorite parts about your body shape?
My curves, a lot of girls have told me they wish they had my body, especially my thighs.
What are 3 tips that you can share about mastering the dressing your body shape concept?
Don’t always depend on the size number. Find things that flatter you and make you look good when you look in the mirror. Buy staple pieces so you can mix and match.
What is your body shape confession?
If society didn’t put so much emphasis on being skinny, I wouldn’t worry so much about losing weight.
