Pumping Tips For News Moms
Pumping and I, we go pretty much hand in hand lately. If you have read my previous breastfeeding posts, you know that I’m on quite the journey here to make sure that I have a big enough supply to feed this little (and always very hungry) girl, and pumping is a huge part of that. (If you’re looking for some diet tips for boosting lactation, I have a guide for that, too!) My routine goes as follows: breastfeed, pump, formula if she’s not getting enough food, squeeze in some work and repeat. All. day. long. It’s a work in progress – a time consuming, every single day work in progress. So, for all you busy mamas like me, there’s Simple Wishes and their amazing hand’s free pumping solutions that has truly been my biggest pumping tips for new moms.
I’m completely exhausted to be quite honest with you all. AND – I give all you full time breastfeeding mamas the biggest props, I bow to you. Things have been a bit shaky for me with establishing my supply and my breast pump has become something that I see pretty much as often as I change a diaper (which is often). It’s an experience, and I encourage you all to power on because I have a pretty awesome pumping tip that involved HANDS FREE PUMPING (yes!), to make your experience that much easier.
Breastfeeding tips for new moms
Hand’s free pumping? Yes! This is for real! Believe me – I spent my first week or so of pumping spending so much time holding the darn pumps and counting the minutes until I was able to get back to what I needed to do. Moms need their hands after all. (Hint: here’s all the goodies I kept in my bedside drawer that helped make breastfeeding way easier, day or night.)
My best pumping tips for new moms
Simple Wishes Signature Hands Free Pumping Bra is pretty much the only breastfeeding tips for new moms that you will ever need. It allows me to tend to Blake respond to emails, do what I need to do as a mom and human being so that I don’t blink my eyes every day and realize that it’s 9pm, I’m working on a deadline and there is a sink filled with dishes. Hands-free pumping brings freedom to every busy moms life who is spending their days pumping away.
The need to know details: The Simple Wishes Hands Free Pumping Bra is adjustable, allows you to pump both breasts at the same time and can easily be thrown into the wash with your other clothes. I’m pretty much obsessed. But here’s a few more pumping tips for new moms that I know you will find useful:
- Make sure you’re dressing the part: as in have comfortable, nursing clothes handy at all times so that you don’t feel uncomfortable while pumping or breastfeeding in public.
- Store the milk right away: label your breast milk storage bags and get them ready for freezing immediately so that you’re organized.
- Stick to your little one’s schedule
- Practice at home so that you really get the hang of pumping so you’re prepared for doing it in public or at work.
While I can’t promise you that you will get a shower before 10pm at night, I can promise you the gift of some extra time, the use of your hands again and a more relaxing pumping experience.
Fashionably yours,
Allison

Hands free pumping? No way! That is so cool. Things sure are different from when I was nursing. That would have made life so much easier.

These are great tips. I struggled with finding time for that and everything else I had to do.
