Life is inconsistent right now – I get it. So you don’t lose your sanity, here are some simple ways to make wellness a priority over the summer.

If ever I’ve needed a reminder to make wellness a priority in my life, that time is now. Honestly, I’ve been doing the bare minimum around the house and for myself, but I’m trying to do better. I think that with so much uncertainty in the world, these feelings of grief have really stopped me in my tracks. Since we now know that Branden won’t be going back to school until the fall, the one upcoming certainty in sight is summer vacation.
Yes!
Time to throw all those distance virtual learning routines out the window, let your schedule hang loose a little bit, and get back into a groove that has a positive impact on your life.

Simple Wellness Practices to Maintain This Summer
I think the one thing we all know that is an important part to maintaining our overall wellness (other than eating healthy) is working out. For me, other than a few other things on this list, working out has been the key thing I haven’t let go of. I might be baking brownies more these days (because why not?), but I’m still running 25 milesish each week, and to me, that’s a win. Since moving your body is a given, I’m not including it in this list, but know that it’s just as important as all these other wellness practices and I expect you all to be doing it!
Maintain your skincare routine.
Girlfriend, if this is the only self-care you have time for these days, don’t let it slip! 5 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes at night is all you need to make sure that your skin is taken care of and it’s important – especially during the harsh summer months!
Stay hydrated.
Staying hydrated is crucial year-round, but it’s easier to get dehydrated during the hot summer months. Here’s the thing: getting enough water each day impacts your overall health, mood, skin, and energy levels. Seriously. Don’t skip this wellness practice that is so simple to be in control of. I personally carry a glass of water or water bottle with me everywhere, all day long, so that I’m constantly reminded of getting those 8-10 glasses in. (Or more, I aim for 100 ounces a day!)
It’s also important to think about the quality of the water that you are drinking so much of. This is why ZeroWater is such a big part of our life here in the Cooper household. When using the amazing ZeroWater pitchers and filters, you never have to worry about the number of dissolved solids, lead, or chromium found in your water thanks to their 5-stage advanced filtration system. And just so you are able to truly see the difference for yourself, every pitcher comes with a Water Quality Meter so that you can test it out for yourself!
Think ahead when it comes to mealtime.
I feel like now more than ever, it’s really hard to follow a diet of any kind. You guys know how I shift back and forth between healthy eating and the keto diet, but right now when it’s hard to find specific items at the grocery store, strict guidelines get thrown out the window. Instead, I focus on balance and thinking ahead. For instance, if I know we’re having a big dinner, I’ll have a low carb, smaller lunch. And vise versa. I also intermittent fast 5-6 days a week, so I mostly skip breakfast and just focus on consuming healthy calories (while still splurging here and there) during certain hours. It helps, I promise!
Let go of the guilt.
I feel like this one is just as important as working out most days. Guilt and stress weighs so heavy on us and impacts more than just our moods, but can cause breakouts and depression and the list goes on and on. Focus on what’s most important to you and it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
Do things that bring you joy.
Sounds easy, but it’s not always. Sometimes I find myself doing things because I feel like I should be, but not because I want to. My husband always catches me and leads me to the light haha. Now I’m not suggesting you stop doing laundry because it doesn’t bring you joy, but I am suggesting you start incorporating or taking away things to get you to a happier place. For me, this has been ordering books I’ve been saying I’m going to read and enjoying them at night after Blake goes to sleep. Perfection!

Thanks for the giveaway! We’ve been so out of sorts since our fridge with a water filter had to be replaced and I couldn’t get one with a filter. I keep opening the fridge for. water and there’s none in there!
