Sore Muscle Relief: Muscle Relief Soak Recipe
I think at some point in our lives we are all craving a little sore muscle relief. Keep scrolling for my oh so simple, muscle relief soak recipe, but first, I want to touch on why this works so well for muscle relief.
Why choose a soak to help with muscle relief?
One of my absolute favorite household staples is Epsom salts because they do a lot of wonderful things. While you can buy different versions that are infused with essentials oils and herbs, the core of the epson salts is that they help to relieve sore muscle and fight inflammation.
Whenever the salts are combined with your warm bath water, it breaks down into magnesium and sulfate. Web MD says, “The theory is that when you soak in an Epsom salt bath, these get into your body through your skin. That hasn’t been proven, but just soaking in warm water can help relax muscles and loosen stiff joints.”
Because of the healing properties, they have actually been used for hundred of thousands of years.

Sore Muscle Bath Soak Recipe
This is my absolute favorite sore muscle bath soak recipe in the world!
- 2 cups of Epsom Salts
- 1 Cup Baking Soda
- 5 drops of lavender essential oil
- 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
- 5 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
- 5 drops of rosemary essential oil
First, mix together your Epsom Salts and Baking Soda in a large bowl. Then slowly add the essential oils. You can obviously add any additional oils that you love, but the combination of the peppermint, lavender, eucalyptus and rosemary all aid in sore muscle relief.
When you are done, transfer to a mason jar and you will have enough for 3, 1 cup uses.
