I know that I’m a little behind the curve of the topic of new years goal’s, but due to traveling this holiday season, I unplugged a bit and focused on my family and friends in the physical word for a change. Anyways, as 2013 came to a close, I had some major mixed feelings. In fact, all of my friends and family came to the same conclusion…2013 kinda sucked.
The whole time I was away in Pittsburgh, my sister kept saying that 2013 was a “learning” year, which made perfect sense to me. So, I’m hoping that 2014 is the “telling” year. As in, it will tell us if we have truly understood the lessons we learned and used that information to move forward and live our lives more fully.
Though truth is, there were some wonderful things that happened in 2013 that weren’t bad at all. My niece Lily was born, I successfully hosted my first Project Motherhood Event, Branden started school, I made some amazing new friends, and we fulfilled my husbands lifelong dream of going to Medieval Times! (Pictures scattered throughout.)
But I have to say that I’m a little nervous moving into 2014, because it HAS to be awesome, right? I’m apprehensive about the expectations that I have for 2014 and if they will be met.
So as I “look” around the web, it is easy to see that everyone is doing the typical when it comes to the New Year: getting organized, making resolutions, setting goals, and putting plans into action in order to make those goals come to fruition. Then, here I am still trying to get back into an operational state from traveling and wondering, am I starting 2014 off right?
After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that yes, I am starting 2014 off right, because I’m doing it the way that I want to. So what if it has taken me until the first week in January to write my goals, complete my posting schedule, and get a head start on things? Instead of completing tasks on a timeline that someone else has created, I have made the best decisions for me and my family.
So, here we go: My 2014 Goals
- Invest more time and energy into putting my marriage first.
- Take more pictures and make more memories. (My husband and I have an empty collage picture frame propped up against the wall in our bedroom to remind us to do just this!)
- Stop stressing so much!
- Make healthier choices and run 3 times per week with my husband.
- Bring my businesses to the next level.
- Learn how to “unplug” from the Internet when I need to and focus on what really matters.
What are your 2014 goals?
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
