Happy Monday party people! For the first time in a few weeks, I will admit that I’m feeling refreshed to start a new week, and I hope that you are, too. I’ve fallen off the “healthy eating wagon” these past couple weeks and am currently reviewing my Whole30 morals getting myself back together. I just don’t feel good about myself when I’m not eating right and working out like I should (sluggish is becoming my middle name), so working on those things this week as well as bringing your weekly dose of mom style! If you missed last weeks #momstylemonday – we chatted about organic baby clothes and there’s still time to enter the giveaway!
Today, I’m sharing a really hot trend right now: the knot front dress. I love this for many reasons, but mostly because it’s really effortless. I think that clothing being easy wear is hugely important in a mom wardrobe because we have kids clawing at us all day long. I try to start with pieces that are simple in structure and add easy layers and accessories to amp up the style a bit.
How to Style the Knot Front Dress
This Knot Twice Dress is made from a cozy jersey fabric that hangs nicely on any body shape. It’s great for layering during these transitional months, but also great to be worn by itself with your favorite shades (see above). You might remember this kimono from a post I did back in 2015 – yes this this kimono (similar) is seriously that awesome that it’s still a staple in my wardrobe!
The know front dress features a simple knot front embellishment on an otherwise simple shift dress, which pretty much gives you a blank palette for styling however is most comfortable for you. I love adding light layers to breakup the solid colors and pair it with some great wedges or even flat sandals.
And of course, throwing a denim jacket on over top everything is just perfection. This denim blazer has been in my wardrobe since college and is not being produced anyone (from Armani Exchange), but here’s a similar one for you to check out. Having a now eight month old (tear) mean that I’m always on the move, so I love how the knot from dress trend is perfect for my life with little adjustments necessary throughout the day.
How are you wearing the knot front dress trend?
Fashionably Yours,
Allison
