Essential Oils for Energy
It takes SO much energy to get through each day, especially when you are a mama. Gosh – kid’s are effing exhausting. I feel like every time I turn around there is something new that needs cleaned up, an appointment that needs made, or Blake is pulling me outside for the millionth time today to ride her bike (which I love…but I also have stuff to do). I try my hardest to just be present and engage with them as much as possible, but when you add their needs to my needs, the houses needs, Chris’s needs, work, fitting in fitness – it’s just a lot. I admit that my most energized days so come whenever I push through and get a great run in and focus on these mood boosting habits, but most days I need more. And I’m sure you do, too. I’ve turned to essential oils for energy quite a bit in the last year and it’s made a very apparent difference in my daily life.
Which essential oils for energy to buy:
Because I use essential oils for energy on a daily basis, there are a few oils that I make sure to have handy all the time, which are the ones I’ve outlined with you below. To me they are the basics, the essentials, and the things that I use to mix with so many other essential oil blends for various things in our household.
Citrus everything
Almost every single citrus oil is well known for not only uplifting your mood, but boosting energy, too. And as an added bonus, they smell amazing, so you can’t really go wrong with whichever one you choose. For me, I always have lemon oil, sweet orange oil and grapefruit oil on hand and then it smells like summer everyday!
Peppermint Oil
We tend to think of peppermint as something to freshen our breath, but it goes so much beyond that and it wonderful for boosting energy, helping with focus and mental clarity, alleviate fatigue and can instantly uplift your spirits. You seriously want allll the peppermint in your life! Buy my favorite peppermint oil here!
Eucalyptus Oil
Known for its pretty intense respiratory healing, eucalyptus also works wonders when boosting your energy levels. It’s so wonderful, that I almost always add a few drops to my favorite body oil recipe. Also known for healing many chronic diseases and support your body as a whole, this is a great one to have at home. Buy my favorite eucalyptus essential oil here!
Frankincense Oil
This oil, in my opinion, doesn’t smell the most amazing, but it really important to always have in your collection. Frankincense is known in a sense as the Holy Grail of essential oils because obviously we hear about it in the Bible and it works wonders to keep you balanced, help with anxiety – and boost those energy levels! My favorite essential oils for energy blend: Mix together 5 drops lemon, 2 drops eucalyptus and 3 drops peppermint in your diffuser or in a roller bottle with your favorite carrier oil (I use sweet almond oil). Diffuse throughout your home or rub on your wrists and neck on a daily basis for a little boost!
How to use essential oils for energy
If I am in need of an intense energizing boost, I will put it directly onto my skin, though you need to be careful doing that, especially if you have sensitive skin or haven’t used essential oils before. I do love to diffuse oils, however, with Blake running around and not needing an ounce of extra energy, I try to diffuse things that will benefit us both in there. Typically, I use the roller bottle method the most and doing this on a daily basis will really make a difference in your energy levels. Who needs caffeine anyways?
