Since Blake turned 3, and even a little bit before, I have been thinking about nothing besides potty training. I could pretty much anticipate the joy that would fill my every vein, pulsing through my body whenever the day would come that I didn’t need to buy diapers anymore.

The Lazy Moms Guide to Potty Training
Branden on one hand, took what seemed like forever to potty train. With Blake being a girl, I anticipated that it would be easier. At least that’s what I read everywhere online and every single mom I chatted with told me. We started to try at age two and a half as she started to express some interest in the toilet and not really liking to have anything sit in her diaper too long. To this, we were pretty quickly met with hesitation, anger, and accidents pretty much immediately.
Because of all the discouragement that came from mostly me, I wanted to share with you all today what I refer to as my “lazy mom method” to potty training so that you can hopefully take a little weight off your shoulders and stress out of your life.

Ok you guys, here is my foolproof, step by step guide to potty training your child the “lazy” way:
Step one: Buy your toddler underwear and training pants on Amazon. Get really excited about the purchase. Get your toddler really excited about the purchase. Then watch as they have no interest. Place in drawer for a rainy day.
Step two: Let the your potty training essentials sit in the drawer for at least 6 months, along with your hope that potty training would be a super easy experience.
Step three: Run out of diapers during a snow storm, and sit and watch your Amazon Prime delivery keep getting pushed back later and later into the day. When you get the the point when your toddler is wearing the last, not clean diaper anymore, on their bum, shrug a little and tell them that they have to wear the underwear you set aside months ago.
Step four: Watch as said toddler finally decided to potty train themselves. If you’re lucky, they won’t even want you in the bathroom with them.
Potty training problem solved!
