I’ve partnered with Johnson’s and Johnson for this post, as always, opinions are my own.
There are many challenges that we face whenever we become parents, and I think that we can all agree that getting a good night sleep is up pretty darn high on the list. Since Branden and our new baby do have an almost 8 year age difference, I’ve been spoiled and had a few years of good night sleep in between. I know that is all about to change and I’m trying to prepare myself for what’s ahead of me. During this period of preparation, I’m so happy to have been introduced to the Tonight We Sleep system, as it includes so many elements that help parents!
The event that I attended last week was so much more than just sharing the Johnson’s 3 Step Sleep Routine (which I will share as you scroll down), but such an eye opener for parents. Johnson’s has spent a great deal of time gathering the right information to put together a global lullaby that pulled familiar sounds and rhythms from countries all over the world (such as heartbeat in the womb, air conditioner, ocean and forest animals) to try help get children to sleep at night. Their new Bedtime App works in conjunction with the bedtime routine and lullaby to help parents track their children’s routines and stay on track each night.
My favorite sleep tips from their top experts:
1. Follow a consistent bedtime routine
2. The bedroom should be cool, dark and tech free
3. Children should not drink caffeine
4. Go to bed and wake up at the same time every day
5. Limit light exposure late in the day (including light from tech)
Johnson’s 3 Step Bedtime Routine
We all know that no two babies are alike and I highly expect that my routine with our new little one will be different than the one that Branden required, but Johnson’s 3 Step Bedtime Routine has been clinically proven to help baby fall asleep faster and stay asleep.
o Step 1 – Warm bath
Recommend using JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bath, JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby bubble bath and wash or JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby moisture wash during this step
o Step 2 – Gentle Massage
Recommend using JOHNSON’S® BEDTIME® baby lotion during this step
o Step 3 – Quiet Time
Recommend playing the lullaby during this step to wind down

I love this! Smart tips! I did find that the age difference was good with my oldest and my youngest (they are 4 years, 11 months apart). My oldest loved helping to take care of the baby and still loves reading to him. They just started sharing a room in early January.
